The last time The Little Man visited the seaside was three years ago when he was only two years old. He didn’t remember it so he was really excited when we went away to Blackpool at half term.
It was so good to get away and we all had a lovely time. I just hope we don’t leave it so long before we get to go to the beach again. The Little Man doesn’t have to wait so long though, he’s off to Weston-Super-Mare with his school on Tuesday. That’s if he behaves himself at school tomorrow, he’s currently in their bad books, naughty boy.
I find it so hard to believe he’s naughty at school, while we were away he was the most well behaved of my three children. In fact he’s nearly always well behaved at home. So why is he naughty at school? He told his teacher it was because he misses me…awww! I’m pretty sure that’s just an excuse though. Even if he is a mummy’s boy.
Be good Little Man and you will get to go to the seaside again x

What a shame, I hate having bad weather at the seaside, well, unless I go in October. It's always nice to get some sea air though.

I forget how lucky we are to live so close to the beach. I really hope he enjoyed his day and is able to go on the school trip x

I hope school are supporting him … with my Inclusion Lead hat on I would be finding out what is driving those behaviours at school. We have children with separation anxiety – what is he like when you leave him in the morning?

Thank you Shaz, he was better behaved and we are just about to pick him up from his trip. I could be separation anxiety, I'd not though of it like that because I always used to take him to school and he was fine, but since Christmas I have been ill and I can no longer take him to school. It seems he has gradually got worse since then. x

Oh yes, that is definitely behind his behaviour. Such a change for him. And he is probably worried about you being ill too so he wants to be with you to make sure you are ok. I think we often forget how children see and feel about the world. Is there someone at school who can help him work out his feelings? He probably doesn't know himself …
