If you are a regular reader you will know that I am a big fan of subscription boxes so i was thrilled to be offered a Brainboost box to review. I chose the School box for 9-12 years old for my daughter Star who is ten. Other options are 2-4 years and 5-8 years boxes. If I am honest I think that maybe I was sent the 5-8 years box by mistake. The activities did seem more aimed at that age and definitely the book that was provided.

As the card had suggested I instructed him to thread to beads in colour order. This was his finished result.

Oh this box looks interesting! May have to try it for the girls….although £20 a month each could end up expensive!
It is more expensive than the general boxes, but it really is bigger and you get so much more. I think it might be a good idea to offer a bi-monthly offer.
That does seem like a bit of a young book for a 10 year old, but it does look like a fun box.
That is certainly not suitable for my ten year old. perhaps five years of age is more appropriate I do love the idea of anything that gets kids creative, but this isnt something I would purchase
As you say that definitely looks like a 5-8 year old box. Whenever we have had activity boxes sent both kids have loved getting stuck into the contents.
I think they all had fun with the activities, my 10 year old did get on with the sewing, I may have to add a photo of that.
I think it was a genuine mistake, had I not had other children I probably would have returned it. There is so much creative stuff you can do at home, and I know you are like me, we make do with what we have and prepare the activities ourselves. It is useful for those who don't have a clue where to start with these type of activities or don't have drawers and cupboards full of crafting materials (like me!)
There is that little something more exciting about receiving the goodies in the post, If I'd just gone out and bought them they probably wouldn't have been so keen to get started.

Shame you got the wrong aged box but it's amazing what companies come up with – I had not heard of Brainboost Box before now but with the rising trend in subscription boxes, it is an obvious sector to target.
I like the idea of the box, though it is a shame you got the wrong one.
