Last week the school had a parents coffee morning (I didn’t attend) and they decided on wearing p.e kits all day was a good idea. So, when one of my children has p.e. they have to go to school in their p.e. kit and wear it all day. The p.e lesson will be longer because they don’t have to get changed and the children will not lose their clothes.
I’m not sure I like this. It just doesn’t feel right to me. I know my Little Man has problems with his fine motor skills and sometimes needs helps dressing and undressing, but I think having to do this at school helps him to learn and get better. And Boo is a little slow, she gets distracted easy while dressing and undressing. Having to do this at school means she has to concentrate and do it quicker.
School is a place of learning a lot more than lessons don’t you think? Or am I wrong? Is being ready for p.e. and not having to get changed a good thing? I just can’t decide.

My girls schools only go into school in their PE kit on their sports days…
This doesn't seem right to me either….
Getting changed for P.E is a lesson in it's self. It teaches kids how to get changed and do buttons.
I think it would actually make more washing….If they are wearing their P.E kits all day they will need washing more. My girls P.E kits get left at school and brought home to wash on the last day before each holiday.
I guess it's something we will have to get used to..and seeing the p.e. kit because my kids used to leave theirs at school until the holidays too.
I've never heard of a school doing this. I think it's a really strange idea. Then again when I was at school, our PE kit consisted of a skirt that barely covered out bums (netball skirt) so I couldn't see it happening then!
