I’ve been browsing John Lewis store online to find some fun games for the kids to have in the garden this summer. Outdoor fun is so important and my kids just love it in the garden. We currently have swings, a slide and scooters but I thought it would be nice to get them some more toys for outside, especially now the weather is getting better, and we have the whole six week summer holiday coming up soon.
John Lewis have lots of choice so I’ve picked a few of my favourites for you.
Water Based Toys
Lets start with something kids of all ages enjoy…bubbles. This fab little bubble making machine will save you blowing while the kids chase the bubbles around the garden. Of course you can buy them some bottles of bubbles themselves but just tell them the bubble machine is blowing yours for them.
Kids like nothing more than water play in the summer, and what could be more fun than a Super Soaker! Just make sure you stay indoors and leave them to it.
Fun and Exercise
One of the games I truly loved as a child was Rounders. It was fun, you got loads of exercise and it needs very little equipment, like this Rounders Bat and Ball set. I bet you’ll be joining in with the kids with this one.
There are so many games that you can play in your garden that don’t take up much space. Great if you only have a small garden, the kids can still play outside and have some fun. Here is one of those games, a fabulous Hoopla Set
How about taking a favourite indoor game outside? All you need to do is make it bigger like this fantastic Giant Tower Game. I remember one of these being outside at a wedding reception a couple of years ago, it was a great success with kids and ‘big’ kids.
Some fabulous ideas there for all ages, let's just hope the weather takes a hint and brightens up so we can get the kids out in the garden to play #MMBC x
this is such a nice toy based article for the parents. most of the time parents are playing with their child on their garden, because this is the perfect place to play. here baby can use any toys for play. but our baby has different choice.
The kid in me always like bubbles. I've played a game similar to the wooden stacking tower which is great fun but frustrating when I topple it. #MMBC
Some amazing ideas there. I particularly like the Hoopla, I love old-fashioned games and you can't beat a good old game of rounders.
That mud pie kitchen looks amazing. May have to ask the father in law to make one for Max!
All this would be real winners in my home. We already have that bubble machine and it is really good with regards to leaks etc X mmbc
We love anything to do with water and mud – our mud kitchen serves beautiful pies and pancakes 😉 We try to play hoopla but it all gets a bit competitive. My favourite is boules, that makes everyone calm down and be a bit more quiet 😉
I am thrilled with that Mud Pie Kitchen. I wish I had such a beauty in my childhood.
That Mud pie kitchen is incredible! I love the Ridleys toys too, please bring on the sun!
i SO want the mud pie kitchen!
My kids just love anything to do with bubbles! Might have to get that bubble machine for them x
Anything to do with water gets my vote. Big kids and little kids love them. I have just passed on our mud kitchen as at 10 and 12 my boys are a little old for it.
We love giant jenga and anything with bubbles is lots of fun
