The Uk’s biggest food and garden show returns to the NEC this June.
BBC Good Food Show and BBC Gardeners’ World Live, 15th – 18th June 2017 at Birmingham NEC.
I’m really excited to be going with my hubby this year. I’ve always loved the Good Food and garden show it fills me with inspiration and empties my purse as I buy lots of goodies.
This year promises to be the best year yet packed with gardening inspiration, artisan food and drink and the UK’s most famous gardeners and food experts including Marty Don, Mary Berry, Alan Titchmarsh and James Martin to name a few.
Every ticket includes admission to both events, the Good Food Show and Gardeners’ World, it’s great value as there is always so much to do, and with tickets starting at just £23.50. If you go at the weekend it’s free for kids! There is a creche for 0-5 year olds but there is also lots of entertainment for the kids such as face painting, texture rubbing, vegetable painting, and making bird feeders and Fathers Day cards. Plus there is a huge sandpit by Bathgate using their extra safe and clean sand. Activities on Thursday and Friday are for pre-schoolers and at the weekend for children of all ages.

I will admit I am more interested in the Food Show than the Gardening Show but I will be giving them both attention this year. My garden really needs a make-over so I will be looking for inspiration. I would love to learn more about growing my own food, I want the hubby to get building me some raised beds in the garden.
Gardeners’ World is celebrating their Golden Anniversary, that’s 50 years of gardening. I will be looking for the Nostalgia Gardens set in the 1960s and the three tier birthday cake made from peonies. I’ll be sure to take lots of photographs.
The Super theatre experience features showcases some of the UK’s top chefs cooking live. This year you can see Tom Kerridge, Michel Roux Jnr, Mary Berry, James Martin, Nadiya Hussain and the Two Greedy Italians – Antonio Carluccio and Gennaro Contaldo.
I’d love to meet Mary Berry and Michel Roux Jnr.
There are lots of other chefs added to the line up too, the latest is Joe Wicks! Very tasty! (I mean his food of course…just in case the hubby reads this.)
I may even nip into the wine and chocolate paring, especially now that I’m not driving.
I love how there are no barriers between the Good Food Show or Gardeners’ World, you can just slip in to each of them as you wish, or just visit one if you don’t have time or interest in the other. But it’s great that the tickets cover both, a bargain indeed.

Ooh I would love to go to this – I'm a secret Monty Don fan! My garden is wrecked after all the building work we had done earlier this year so I could do with going to this show to get loads of tips. I've not managed my visit yet, I'm hoping to go tomorrow, but I've just seen a friends recording of Monty Don, I believe she is a fan too 🙂
