A blast from the past today, September 2008. My two little girls in a shopping trolley in Asda. I love this photo so much, no only do my girls look incredibly cute but this was a shopping trip with my Mum. She wasn’t well, but I had no idea that I only had three months left with her. She never even got to meet The Little Man.
We were talking about Nanny today, of course Boo doesn’t remember her, but Star does, she remembers her stair lift. Nanny would let her sit on her lap to ride up the stairs. She also remembers Daddy taking her to the chip shop when we visited Nanny’s house on Friday afternoons. It was only a short walk, but it was across parkland, so very memorable for a three year old. I wonder how long those memories will last though? Do you remember anything from when you were three?
The Little Man asked when she died and I told him it was on Christmas Day. He gasped and asked in a timid voice if Santa had killed her. I had to laugh, ‘of course not,’ I told him, ‘Santa would never kill anyone he’s a nice person.’ I hope he doesn’t think that Santa would do something like that, I can imagine him not being able to sleep on Christmas Eve for very different reasons to any other child!
I’m on a mission to get 1000 followers on my Facebook Page, would you join me there and make my day?

Aw simple activities are memorable ones when everyone is happy and behaving like this.
That is a beautiful photo. Hope you manage to reassure little man that Santa is good 🙂
Beautiful photo, I miss the days when my girls used to sit in the trolley
Thank you for linking up
Aww! Such a lovely photo which holds dear memories…
I hope your boy isn't worried about Santa. The poor love x
What a lovely photo and lovely memories. I don't think I can remember anything from when I was 3! My eldest can just about remember my grandparents. They died when he was 4.
Ah what a special photo and I'm so sorry you lost your mum. I think memories and stories can last forever as long as you keep telling them. Hope little man sleeps well Christmas Eve (that bit made me smile ;))
It's nice to remember the good times you've had with your mum. And your little man's question is too funny! I'm sure he'll still hold Santa in high regard! It's a lovely photo of your girls. Thanks for sharing.

Oh that is a lovely photo of Boo and Star and what a lovely memory too look back on. Isn't it funny the things that little ones get in their mind. Hopefully you've managed to reassure Little Man with regards to Santa. I have some lovely memories of my nan who died when I was five. Some of my memories must be from when I was around three as she moved house around that time and I remember her in both her old house and the one she lived in when she died x
What adorable faces. That age is a great time to be around little ones.
My son still likes to sit in the trolley because he quite small. I don't know how long this will continue for but I am worried he will get wedged in one day!
