It’s No1 Son’s birthday next week and he always enjoys going out for a meal to celebrate. Last year we went for Teppanyaki which was a new experience for us all. This year he asked to go for a Korean BBQ. Well, I had to search hard to find a genuine Korean BBQ restaurant but I did…and it was only 30 miles away!!!
Again, it was another new experience. There is a hole in the table in which they come and put in flaming hot coals. Then they bring over a trolly full of raw food to be cooked on this BBQ right in the middle of the table. In this photo there is a huge steak cooking along with some chicken skewers, around the outside we had sweetcorn and egg. After the meat came a huge amount of sea food.
I have to admit I’m not a huge fan of BBQ food but I enjoyed some of the offerings, especially lobster. My favourite part was the kimchi soup starter though.
I’m wondering now what he’ll come up with next year, I hope it’s somewhere nearer to home!

Wow that is an unusual restaurant! We are big BBQ fans all year round as we have an indoor hut in our garden and one for the guests too. I'll have to check out some Korean recipes. Happy birthday to your son.
It looks amazing! I have never seen Korean food before.
if you love to bbq and can't wait for the summer then it's ideal 🙂
Oh that looks fantastic. I’m going to see if we have one close by x #mysundaysnap
Oh wow! That looks so good…It sounds like a wonderful evening x
Hi Anne, what an interesting way to enjoy a meal. I'm not sure I'd want to be the person cleaning the egg section out afterwards though. I hope your son had a fabulous birthday. I notice there was no mention of pudding? What puddings do they serve at a Korean restaurant?
xx
ahh I offered pudding but they insisted they couldn't manage one…they did eat an awful lot! I don't even know what they had on the desert menu…(I would have liked one but wasn't going to be the only one ordering!)
Looks delicious! I've had some Korean influenced food before but not been to a Korean restaurant. It looks like a lot of fun.
This looks delicious and makes me want to eat dinner again. #MySundayPhoto
