The kids don’t go back to school until next Wednesday and despite keeping their usual bed time they have been getting up later and later. The Little Man still wakes up but he’s been getting into bed with me for a cuddle. The girls have not been getting up until about 8am (which, believe it or not, is really late for them, especially Star who is normally a 6am starter!) So, I’m been getting a little extra time in bed each morning.
I’ve been suffering really bad fatigue lately, not sure why. When I get tired I get really tired and can fall asleep at the drop of a hat. I’ve dropped off at the lap top several times, and reading a book, crocheting and watching television. I guess that’s nothing unusual, but the other day I dropped off in the sink while attempted to wash my hair with the shower head. Thankfully, I was wise enough to realise I wasn’t fit enough to take a shower, I’d have hated to fall asleep in there, I may have fallen off my stool! I went out for the first time since Christmas Eve yesterday and fell asleep in the car, luckily, I wasn’t driving!
I was so tired that I slept through Storm Eleanor, despite her breaking my glass topped garden table!
My day out was a trip to Dreams where my son purchased a new bed for himself. We spent a lot of time browsing the beds. I’ve decided that I’d like one with two separately controlled adjustable beds, but hubby fancies one that has a tv hidden away in the bottom. I don’t really like televisions in the bedroom, but if it means he doesn’t have to watch football downstairs then it’s worth it. The kids liked my adjustable beds and got really quite comfortable in them. Star has decided that she wants a Tempur Cloud mattress for her bed costing around £1000 for a single mattress! ….mmmmm…..if she would like to spend more time in it, it may be worth it. (or not!)
I think our bedroom could do with a serious makeover, but we won’t have the finances this year, I’ll just have to keep dreaming! (see what I did there?)
My Latest Word of the Week – Lifted
Happy new year Anne ! Funnily enough through the Christmas holidays my two who are normally 6 am risers stayed in bed until 8.30, the festive season must have worn them out. That sounds like extreme tiredness hope you can get to the bottom of it soon. Dreams do the best mattresses, well worth saving up for x #WotW
I'm always more sleepy at this time of year. I prefer to be woken by the light. Often thought hibernation would suit me. Glad you were sensible and I hope now the days are starting to lenghthen that it will get easier for you. The controllable bed sounds like a nice idea. I'm with you on not wanting TVs in bedrooms. #wotw
Bed definitely seems to have been the theme of your week. The lie ins must be nice, especially when you're feeling so tired. I hope the fatigue passes, as that does sound a little scary at times!! A wonderful weekend to you & your family.
I know how you feel, I get very tired mentally from life. I take medication during the day and that causes drowsiness. Sometimes, it is good to sleep and rest, have a great weekend X #wotw
I do see what you did there, clever! Definitely a week revolving around bed and sleep for you. I hope you get some more energy soon and that everyone gets beds of their dreams! Thanks for sharing with #WotW
I wish our two would sleep in. My OH is better at getting our son to stay in his bed longer than me. This means we have had a 6am start rather than a 5am. It sounds like you have along holiday too. Your post has reminded me home much we need a new mattress #WotW
My girls have been sleeping until about 10am! Eek! They're in for a shock next week when they go back to school. lol
A bed with a TV in is the thing of dreams….I would love one.
Hi Anne, it's nice when the family sleep late until it's time to go back to school! I don't envy you one bit, at least my daughter is old enough and ugly enough to take responsibility for getting ready for school. My job is to get her there on time and then myself to work… I've been known to doze off whilst blogging and reading, not done it whilst in the shower yet, but I'm sure that's not totally out of my capabilities!… Now a photo of you sleeping on a bed in the bed shop would have been funny!
xx
Ah it's lovely to have a great bed to get into each night. We all tend to crash out at the same time here and only hubby gets up really early. #WotW
I quite like the sound of the two adjustable beds. I'm not a fan of TV in the bedroom either but I think my hubby would quite like one of the beds with the hidden TV in them. Hope you are feeling less tired this week x #WotW
