So last week I had my IVIG treatment and I’m pleased to report that I have had no side effects at all! The last time I was so ill with the most horrific migraines, including a hemi-plegic migraine which paralysed me. This time I’ve had zilch, nothing, not even a bad headache. I think the hydration thing really worked, I drank so much water to filter down the thickening of my blood rushing to my head.
So, my third infusion was much better for me in the way of side effects.
I have also felt better from my condition. Not miraculously better, I’m still not walking and have many symptoms, but better non the less. I have felt slightly less neuropathic pain. This is the constant pain that I feel, it never goes away. But this week it has been slightly easier to bare, for a couple of days earlier in the week it was much easier. I had two nights comfortable sleep without waking in spasm. The myoclonus have eased off a lot, which is great. I’m still getting the startle reflex, but it’s nice to be not twitching all the time.
I just hope this feeling better lasts.
I could have taken advantage of feeling better this week by going out more, but hasn’t it been so cold? I just couldn’t bear to go out in it, so apart from a visit to the Vet with our cat I’ve not really been out. Also, I don’t really want to catch that nasty flu bug that’s going around, I have every sympathy for those that have succumbed to it, it sounds so awful.
Ahh! I am so pleased! I really hope you continue to feel better.
It has been freezing! I have tried to stay indoors as much as possible x
This is such good news, so pleased for you. And no, I don't blame you, it has been so cold, stay in! Thanks for sharing with #WotW x
Hi Anne, I am so happy that your treatment didn't have the same miserable side effects as before. The fact that there is a treatment that may alleviate symptoms is wonderful, but facing it knowing how ill it can make you feel must be terrible. Fingers crossed that treatment is symptom-free from now on… You have made me better though. I've not ventured out as much as I'd like apart from work as I've felt so cold. I took one of the dogs in the woods yesterday, it was so windy the trees were creaking and it was very creepy. Even the dog wasn't relaxed. By the time I got home I was freezing. Luckily today I worked from home and didn't move from in front of the fire!
Thank you for linking up with the #MMBC.
xx
I am so pleased you are feeling better and on the mends and your right the weather has been horrific, that wind was mental the other night! X #wotw
Oh, Anne – it so lovely to pop over and see things have gone well with the treatment – I do hope the 'better' feeling lasts! A lovely weekend to you. #WotW
Hi Anne, glad to hear you are feeling better. Migraines are horrible, aren't they? I have had a few already this year. Sorry I am late stopping by, I am still catching up for Christmas #MMBC
That's wonderful news Anne, I'm so happy to hear you are feeling better. I don't blame you for avoiding the outdoors. Have a lovely weekend x
So glad to hear that you didn't have side effects this time around and that you are feeling better from the latest round of treatment. Fingers crossed that it will help in the long run. Getting out and about has definitely not been appealing lately! #WotW
