I’m with you on the puzzle front. I’m like a terrier with a rag until I figure an intriguing puzzle out. Oh poor Star. She must feel quite at home in a hospital setting now. Well done Little Man. I bet he can tell you lots about that era now. Still smiling at the spring onions that weren’t. I read somewhere else that people put daffodils in the fridge to delay them. Glad you didn’t make him eat them. They’re poisonous, aren’t they?#keepingitreal

how hilarious about the daffodils! God job you didn’t complain. Bletchley park sounds great – i’ve always wanted to visit. I always think i’ll find history boring but i’m the one who has the best time at places like that as I end up finding it so interesting. sorry to hera about star and the tmj joint – I never knew what TMJ stood for even though they had to investigate trin’s recently because it had been deformed a little from the arthritis – thankfully the Maxfax surgeon thought the damage was minimal so they didn’t need to treat it. Hoping star’s will resolve speedily. xxx

How funny about those beautiful daffodils! Haha that made me chuckle. Was your little one learning about Ancient Greeks or Egyptians as that is a little confusing! He looks very chuffed though that he got to read -bless him. I have never heard of TMJ but remember suffering terribly as a child with ‘a clicky jaw…” I’m going to look this up. Lovely post. #keepingitreal

haha, did you not know that the Egyptians come from Ancient Greece? Or maybe that’s just my frazzled brain, thanks for pointing it out, I really hadn’t noticed 🙂

Hi Anne, you know, I think my husband would have made the same mistake. Those daffs do look a touch like a spring onion to the untrained eye. I can see my husband putting them in a cheese sandwich now… How proud your Little Man must have been to have his parents there watching him do his Egyptian thing. I think this is a great way of learning, much more productive than being made to sit in class and learn… My daughter has recently started complaining about soreness in her jaw and that it clicks and locks sometimes. I put it down to the stress and tension caused by her studies, but if it happens too often we best go see about it. Once we have her medical book sorted, that is. We recently realised that when she turned 18 she was no longer covered by her Dads medical insurance (a bit like the NHS), we are in the process of sorting it, but it’s a bit unsettling… I love the Bletchley Park story, it really is something. I watched the film a few years back which was really interesting and I, like you, am not overly interested in history. Have you seen the ‘spin-off’ series on Netflix? It’s called The Girls Of Bletchley Park. I really enjoyed it. I bet it was quite eerie in a way to be in a place that played such a big part in winning the war…. It sounds like the whole family had a good day out, and Graham enjoyed his birthday.

Thank you for linking up with #keepingitreal and sharing your week.

    xx

I am with you on the daffodils they really bring spring into the house. I would love to visit Bletchley. I’ve only ever seen it on TV. I love a good puzzle too. #keepingitreal

First of all I want to say wonderful blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to
ask if you don’t mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing.
I have had trouble clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out
there. I truly do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first
10 to 15 minutes are wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or tips?
    Thank you!

ha, interesting question. My mind is constantly humming with things I want to write so I just do it. But I don’t publish until I’ve re-read what I’ve written and then I’ll edit it, often several times. My tip would be to just let the words flow, don’t worry how you begin, then go back and edit later. 🙂

Have you ever thought about adding a little bit more than just your articles?
I mean, what you say is valuable and all. However imagine if you added some great visuals or videos to give your posts more, “pop”!
Your content is excellent but with pics and video clips,
this site could definitely be one of the best in its niche.

    Good blog!
