Hello, and welcome to my new look blog! I’ve a confession to make, I’ve stolen my Sunday photos this week from my Big Brother. He took them while we were out having a family meal together last week. He took some lovely photos of the kids outside the pub. So in this first one is Star, Boo and the Little Man sitting on a rather uncomfortable looking chair!
This is The Little Man and his niece looking over the back of the chair. Now, let me explain something, the little girl in the photo is a year older than The Little Man. She is actually the daughter of my eldest brother’s son. So, my brother’s son is the Little Man’s cousin, and his daughter is his cousin first removed…or to put it correctly, his niece! Confused yet? haha, our family does get confusing. I have two much older brothers which means their children are not really that much younger than me, in fact my eldest brother had a son born before my younger brother was born! Then there is me, I have been married before and have two older children who are both old enough to be parents to my younger three. I guess it’s a good job that my older children don’t have children themselves yet, it could get even more confusing.
Now if you are s still with me, one more photo to share of Boo and her niece.
Boo is a year older than her ‘niece’ and they get on like a house on fire!
The trees in the back ground belong to a local attraction the, Lickey Hills. They are not too far from our home and we have had many fun days exploring the hills and trees. In fact, I’ve lived around here most of my life and spent a lot of my childhood in those hills too.
We don’t have any plans this Sunday but I do hope that we get to go out with the family for lunch again sometime soon, it was such a lovely day. I even bumped into my niece (actual niece, not cousin first removed) that I haven’t seen for over 20 years.
I hope you have a lovely Sunday, see you next week.
Imagine having a chair THAT big in your home. Great photos from your brother 🙂
If I did, and it was comfy, I guess we’d all be sitting together 🙂
That is an awesome chair, hope you had a good day
Thank you for linking up
Thank you, we had a lovely day, can’t wait for next time.
Love your new-look blog and I had to read the description of your family twice before I could get my head around it! The kids all look very happy here.
confusing isn’t it? I always though they were second cousins, but no, if my kids and my nephews kids have kids of their own then they would be second cousins!
Hi Anne, can’t families be complicated. My son went to school with an ad whose niece was several years older too. It tickles me to think of an older child calling a littley Uncle or Aunt!… The children look like they are having fun even if the chair isn’t the most comfortable…. Lickey Hills sounds like a place childhood memories are made!
xx
yes, there is so much confusion in our family, it’s hard to keep track. Sadly I don’t see too much of my family these days but I still have my brother and his family. The Lickey Hills is a fantastic place and I have so many memories from there if I wrote my biography then I’d have to devote a whole chapter, or two to the place. x
I love your staggered family web thingie…its all confusing unless you read it very slowly :). That big chair looks brilliant but I can see how it must be rock hard!
I didn’t get to sit on the chair, but yes it’s rock hard and very cold being outside too.
Oh wow! Your family is confusing! lol
Ahh! We have a chair exactly the same as that at one of our local pubs. My girls always have to sit on it when we visit. hehehe
oooh I wonder if they belong to a chain of pubs. It hasn’t always been there, but then the pub has changed a lot. It kind of reminds me of the huge deckchairs they have at Haven holiday camps.
Now there’s a chair! If only it was padded, right? Thanks for posting.
Yes, if it wasn’t rock hard it would be a lovely seat for the whole family 🙂
Great pics but I don’t fancy that chair much, it doesn’t look to have much bounce in it. #MySundayPhoto
no bounce at all 🙂
My husband’s family gets a bit confusing in this way as well. There are almost 20 years between his eldest and youngest uncle so there’s a broad range of cousins and children of cousins. And then we toss in that my hubs is not biologically related to any of them, and it’s a mega wild story!
Lovely photos – and I think it’s perfectly fine to “borrow” other lovely photos of the family. I do it too! 😉

Yes families can be confusing, both me and both my brothers have had families with one marriage then gone into another relationship once our children have grown. But with the age difference between me and my brothers it makes things even more confusing, I’m not that much younger than their older children and my older children are similar in age to their younger children! Ok, I’m confusing myself now 🙂
Lovely photos, it looks like the kids are having a wonderful time outside there, I think we need one of those giant chairs here!
That looks like a lovely time was had. Lots of fun outdoors. We have one of those giant chairs at a park beside us and it’s always popular x
I haven’t seen one of those giant chairs before but it makes for a great photo opportunity.
Oh that chair does look very uncomfortable, they don’t seem to mind too much.
My family is a bit like yours and I totally get the whole not following and getting confused!
