I’ve used this word before but it was nearly two years ago so I think I’m allowed to use it again.
The weird sad thing is, a lot of the things on the list I put in my last post are still the same.
I like writing lists, it helps me to focus on what needs doing. But sometimes those lists of things to do need doing over and over, so I’m not beating my self up for them being there again.
I wrote a list and put it on the fridge about two weeks ago. The three things on this list that are the same as last time are; clean the girls and little man’s bedrooms and sort out my wardrobe.
Now, please understand that the bedrooms have been cleaned and the wardrobe de-cluttered a few times in the last two years, but they are continuous jobs that need doing, and ones that I don’t relish doing. I have to have help because I can’t pick things up on the floor. Well, maybe one or two things but it hurts. Try it yourself, pick a few things up without bending your knees and see how far you get. It makes you dizzy too!
I’m looking forward to getting the girls room done because we have some new bed linen and toy boxes. The Little Man’s room is fairly tidy (why is it that both my boys are far more tidier than my three girls?) but I want to move things around and fit in some new furniture.
A new job is to re-decorate the family bathroom. I have a new bathroom cabinet a cupboard and new shower curtain. We have paint for the walls, and new bath mats. But, we’ve had these for over a year now and the bathroom still hasn’t been done. I get so frustrated because if I was well I know I could do it all in a day, I’ve done it before. I even decorated the living room in the old house when I was seven months pregnant with Star. But now I can’t do it and I have to wait for hubby….and he’s always got something better to do….and he’s a number one procrastinator.
It Drives Me Nuts!
The kids break up from school today, we seem to be a week behind everyone else in the country. We have a day out planned for Monday, but the rest of the week is going to be spent working through my new list and Procrastination is going to be BANNED in our house.
So, give me two weeks and I will be back telling you of all the things we have achieved. Just you wait and see!
Do you procrastinate?
Good luck with working though your list…
You are starting the school holidays just as we are finishing ours….I think I could do with another week with the girls home to work through our to do list. I have been procrastinating a lot this week….lol
Thanks, I’m looking forward to lazy mornings and busy afternoons 🙂 I hope going back to school goes well for you x
I can relate to this as I struggle to have energy to decorate and hubby is a perfectionist do takes agggggges X #wotw
I wish my hubby was a perfectionist…he just takes ages, lol x
You go for it! I do on some things, like I’ve been meaning to do my wardrobe out for ages but I hate doing it so I’ve still not got round to it. I like lists, and if it goes on a list, it does get done!! Thanks for sharing with #WotW x
I’ve decided to break it down into little pieces so I can manage it without getting worn out. I’ll get through it that way I’m sure x
This week has been a week for hibernation for me as well even if its my son’s half term! Its just so hard to move with this gloomy and cold weather for me! #wotw
I am a procrastinator. I have a tendancy to overthink. Then I’ll suddenly get going and blast through lists. I hope you get through your list. It is going to be so satisfying to get those ones checked off. #wotw
Hi Anne, I am a self-confessed procrastinator and hater of written lists! Lists just remind me of things I haven’t done. I do make loose plans in my head to get certain things done, but as the world doesn’t end if I don’t get round to them, I don’t stress overly. My husband is all or nothing, he either gets stuck in and the whole house knows it or things get left for years, neither really worries me either… Hang on, it’s far more stressful when he gets stuck into things unless it’s out in his shed… I do hope that your health is good for the next couple of weeks and that you manage to have fun during half term and get that list tackled!
xx
That sounds like us to be honest LOL! Good luck getting through your list and have a lovely half term x
If it makes you feel any better Anne I’ve had a tin of paint for the rusted bathroom radiator sat waiting for the last two years and I still haven’t gotten around to it. I’ve no doubts you will smash through your list, you sound very determined. We are also just starting our half term, I hope you enjoy yours x
My hubby is also a procrastinator so I feel your pain with this one. Good luck with working through the list this week and hope that you manage to get it all done x #WotW
Oh my goodness do I procrastinate – yes! I have been thinking a lot about how I want the girls bedrooms to finally look recently. I understand how you feel about wanting to do things but can’t. After having the girls I wanted to move furniture and shouldn’t have been! Last night my hubby moved a piece of furniture and went to put it in the wrong place grr. #WotW
