Welcome Home Bernard!
It took 4 months and nearly two weeks, but Bernard is now back home. I’ve not driven him yet, but I may give it a go soon. I’m really nervous, I used to love driving so much, but I’ve never really got used to driving with my hands.
We only have Bernard until September, then our lease is up and we can choose a new car. Graham has his eye on a Volvo. I thought it would be cool to get a WAV so I could just drive my wheelchair on, that was until I saw the cost…eeek! I think I’ll just stick to getting a new wheelchair and a hoist in the boot of the new car.
In Other News
I think getting Bernard back was the big news of the last week, nothing much else has happened.
I was glad to give my heart monitor back. As I suspected I had a good week with no problems, so they’ll probably give me the all clear. I am 99% sure it was my medication causing the issues, and I’ve stopped it now.
The monitor gave me some lovely sores, I think I’m a bit allergic to those sticky pads they use, I always get a rash whenever I have an ECG.
Wool Addict
My hooks have been busy this week. I’ve almost completed a dragon hooded scarf from a pattern from the lovely Tracey at Hooks and Dragon I can’t wait to show it off.
I’m also in the process of piecing together the CAL (crochet along) blanket that I started last February. I really don’t like the sewing part, but I will finish it after all my hard work, I have to.
I’ve also got the wool for a toy zebra, and the girls fell in love with a pattern for an axolotyl which they want me to make.
I’m going to be a little bit busy.
You remind me of a friend from my youth who also named his car – Cecil. Glad Bernard is back and the sticky pads are off. I also react to the gel on sticky pads. Hoping the coming week is filled with crafts, fun and love for you and your family. #keepingitreal
Thank you Carol x
Glad Bernard is back. That was an amazing long time to wait. Looking forward to seeing all your crochet. An axolotyl would be amazing. #MMBC
I may start the axolotyl today 🙂
Aah I like that you have a name for your car – Mine is called Blu (because it’s blue) but my previous car was called Doris (after Doris Day) lol x #KeepingItReal
My friend once called her car greenie because it was green 🙂 Doris is a brilliant name. I was lazy with the last car, I called it Max because it was a Ford BMax.
Fantastic name for a car. Used to sit next to a lad called Bernard at school. Funny how blogs trigger memories sometimes. Love how your blog is so real, how blogging used to be before it became all about monetizing, awards and so on. Have a great week and I must get into this crochet lark myself as I do keep saying I will #MMBC
I’ve always named my cars, and I have an instinct as to whether they are male or female too. My husband thinks I’m bonkers, but he still calls the car Bernard. 🙂
Glad Bernard’s back. You sound busy!
Your hooking projects sound exciting Anne.
Glad you have Bernard back and hope the driving goes well. Since an op in 2011 I have anxieties around traffic lights although it is getting better! Have no idea why the op triggered it …
Happy hooking.
Aww bless what a lovely name and glad he’s back. I hope it goes well. xx
I stopped naming cars as the only two we ever named both got crashed.
I took a massive reaction to the sticky pads when I had a 24 hr heart monitoring as well.
Hi Anne, getting Bernard back must be like a family member returning to the fold again (love the name)… Fingers crossed it was your meds giving you problems. There was a type of sticky plastic that always used to make my skin react, it must be something in the stickiness that makes us sensitive types react!… It sounds as if hands busy, I’ve not had the time to crochet as I had hoped so far this winter. I remember when you started the blanket, it’s scary how fast the time goes.
Thank you for linking up with #keepingitreal.
xx
Glad to hear that Bernard is back! Hope all goes well with the results after wearing the heart monitor. Craig had to wear one a couple of times after his transplant, just while they were balancing his drugs out.
The crochet projects sound awesome! Can’t wait to see them finished 🙂
Thanks so much for being part of #MMBC. x
Glad to see Bernard is back, good luck with your next car also #keepingitreal
