I love looking at old family photos. I have some of great-grandparents and it really helps to give you a sense of belonging and of a shared history #mmbc

I do love old photos. There is something magical about the moment in time they have captured. They are a real trip down memory lane. I am sorry to hear your Dad died so young. I lost mine at 25, but that is nothing these days. I remember so much about my childhood, but have very few photos. Hugs xx

I’m the youngest child of youngest children and my relatives seem to know and remember so much more about my family than I do. My Mum has a stack of photos of my Nan’s family but I don’t know who they are of.

I know so little about my ancestors, especially on my Dad’s side, I don’t think I ever met any of his family, both his parents were gone by the time I was born. I do have a vague memory of visiting some relative of his and she had a shelf full of ballerina figures..which is literally the only thing I can remember. I can’t even ask my Mum now as she has gone…if only I’d spent more time asking when I could have.

I’m sorry to hear you lost your dad so young Anne, that must have been really tough for you all.
I love looking through old photos, they bring back so many happy memories. Like you, I was the only girl in the pics too! Normally with my brothers either side of me. 🙂

Thanks for sharing with #MMBC. Have a good weekend. x

I look back on photos from the past too, they do seem so grainy and blurry which is why memories are worth so much. Thanks for linking up with #mysundaysnapshot.

we have certainly come a long way with photography, I’m sure way into the future they’ll be complaining that our photos are not 3D or interactive or something

This is such a poignant and lovely post. Memory-making is all that really counts in the end – fun at the time and there to sustain us in later years. I too was the only girl with much older brothers and my late Mum never missed out on an opportunity to paddle. #MMBC
