Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week, a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like.
There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. Do try to stick to the theme of summing your week up. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest board devoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix (formerly Stumble.) Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
My Word of the Week
I wasn’t well the weekend which sort of put me out of sorts for a while. It’s hard keeping track of time when the kids are not at school, and when you lose a weekend because of illness it makes it even worse. Which is why I was convinced that Monday was actually Saturday!
I managed to get out of the house on Monday by driving to see my brother. I actually drove the car for the first time in six months. On Tuesday we had to go to the hospital with Star for her results from the geneticist. I’m still trying to process that news.
Wednesday we went shopping for Easter eggs and a few other bits from Morrisons. It was like a game of hunt the Easter Bunny as Boo and Eldest daughter kept running off around the huge store buying stuff.
But Thursday was the highlight of the week as Boo and the Little Man finally had their hair cut. Boo had been counting the days and was so excited. The Little Man not so excited but willing to go along so that was good as his hair was so long we were getting to the stage of tying it up in a pony tail. Star refused to have her hair cut but that was no surprise. I decided to go for the chop myself as my hair was getting way too long.
So, the photo above is the before shot, and now I guess you want to see the results?
Boo actually had about four inches chopped off which means her hair will be much easier to wash and brush. Two things she hates doing, so if it will help then it’s all good.
The Little Man had loads chopped off. He doesn’t look too happy but that’s because he didn’t want his photo taken, he was happy with his hair. He refused to have the sides shaved, he hates the vibration on his head. But at least it’s short and manageable again. His fringe looks a little crazy here but it’s nice when it’s combed. I couldn’t help remembering his first haircut and how blonde he used to be.
I’m not ready to show off my hair yet, it might be shorter but I’ve not had it coloured yet and well, my roots need a lot of attention!
Now it’s over to you, what word or phrase sums up your week?
Boo’s and Little Man’s hair looks good. It’s nice to get a proper haircut. Can’t remember the last time I got mine done but Sophie did at least get a fringe cut this week so I can see her face again. Glad you are feeling better and managed to get out driving the car too. It sounds like there’s been a lot to take in with the appointment with the geneticist for Star, thinking of you as you process all that x #WotW
Thanks Louise, it is nice when they get their hair cut, they usually want me to do it at home but I’m no hairdresser and I don’t know what I’m doing. I’ll be posting about Star soon, bless her, it never ends for her. Have a lovely Easter x
I’m glad to hear that you felt well enough to drive, I bet it did you the world of good getting out and about. The kids haircuts look very smart, my Jake used to hate having his hair cut and it was such a stressful process our hairdresser has been brilliant though and now he will let her use the clippers although he still insists that she cut the fringe with scissors and around his ears. I bet your hair looks lovely Anne, roots and all. Have a lovely Easter weekend x
Thank you Angela, I don’t think my son will have the clipper again, he really hates them. My hair really needs dying now but I’m going away in four weeks so I want to leave the colour as long as possible. Have a Lovely Easter x
Awww…your children are adorable. Their haircuts look so good! Glad to read that you got out to do some Easter shopping. Have a Happy Easter!
Thank you Laurie, I hope you have a happy Easter too x
They both look very smart and so much easier to care for shorter hair. My children all had blonde hair when they were younger. I need to organize hair cuts for us girls. I’m the worst. It’s down at my waist again. Good for you getting behind the wheel again. Hope it felt good. Have a wonderful weekend and I hope you all enjoy Easter.
Their hair looks fab Anne, it’s amazing the difference a good hair cut makes. Especially with knotty hair, I bet Boo’s hair is so much easier to style now! I am so sorry you have had a bad week, I hope next week is better for you and you feel well. I totally agree about the holidays I thought it was Saturday yesterday x
I hope you are feeling a little better now. Well done you for driving.
hahaha! My girls get like that when we go shopping hence the reason that I mostly do the shopping online.
They both look very smart with their hair cut.
Have a wonderful Easter x
They look fab! I have a little one that hates having his head touched, I’m considering cutting it myself, like I used to when he was little x
