The Horrible Book for Kids
Your offspring are the the delights of your life, so sweet and lovely and full of smiles and hugs. So, why do they love gross things so much. I mean, my Little Man can be forever found playing with bugs or with his finger up his nose. Even the girls are not so sugar and spice and all things nice…not when they want to make gross potions and slime. No amount of glitter makes that stuff pretty.
So if your precious little sweetheart is into all things gross then this is the book for them. And don’t forget, it’s almost Halloween so a lot of these crafts will really come in handy for little monsters.

My Review
As a young child I would revel in making mud pies in the garden, with real mud and few little worms thrown in. I never ate them, but even though they were gross there was something fascinating about making them. This book is NOTHING like that!
Dirt Pies
Let’s start with something quite mild. These dirt pies actually look pretty good and I bet they tast delicious. I’m going to make these with my kids for Halloween. No real mud needed. The recipe is easy to follow and the ingredients probably already in the cupboard. We’ll make our own chocolate muffins to crumble 🙂
Other great recipes in the book include; Tasty Eyeballs, Cockroach Snacks and Cat Poo Chocolates which can even been served on ‘cat litter,’
Horrible Accidents
Maybe your child would like to proudly support some ugly scars, wounds or warts?
These look really affective and pretty easy to do. I think we are starting to get a little grosser. But trust me it gets worse. I had to flip quickly past the cornstarch vomit, despite my love of oobleck, it really does look horrible.
There is also Snot Slime and Earwax which I’d probably give a miss, even though my kids would love them.
If your kid likes snot, poo, vomit, blood, insects and anything gross then they will love making so many of these 30 activities. There is nothing too difficult or time consuming either. Most of the crafts the kids will be able to make themselves.
The book itself is thick with 128 pages and it’s full of colourful photography. It also has a selections of gory facts and great hints. It begins with pages on how to build up your craft supplies and how best to get the kids interested and learning while having fun.
You’ll need to be brave to do these crafts, but I’m sure you and your kids will have loads of fun. And it’s a fabulous resource for Halloween, especially if you are having a party. Vampire Smoothie anyone?

This book sounds awesome – and I think I know two boys who would love making some of those things 😀
It surprised me at how easy, but really effective a lot of the stuff is. The snot slime is super easy, but I have to flit quickly past that page…poo, blood and gore I can deal with, snot…just No! 🙂

Sounds like a fun book for keeping kids busy, entertained and learning during breaks and holidays! But it also sounds pretty gross too! Thanks for linking up with #KLTR this month!
