Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is ‘Family Time’ and you can read more about that below.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week. There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest board devoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
Word of the Week is open from 6am on Friday Morning to 12 noon on Monday. Plenty of time to join in!
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
MY WORD OF THE WEEK – Family Time
The week started okay, the weather had changed again and we were stuck indoors. The kids don’t mind, indoors or outdoors they are fine.
Tuesday was my eldest daughter’s birthday. Our first birthday during this epidemic. We would normally celebrate with a meal out, we went to Teppanyaki last year which was amazing. But this year we stayed home. We ordered take out and had the most delicious Indian curry. We also had cake and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. I think she enjoyed her day and she had some nice presents too.
I’ve had a couple of days this week when my health has been really poor, but I don’t want to dwell on that. It’s swings and roundabout, good times and bad. But mostly good. And we have been getting on so well together lately which is always a bonus when you are a family of seven stuck under one roof.
We’ve been having a lot of fun playing Jackbox.tv a family game which we can all join in with our tablets and phones. There are different games to play and involve drawing, answering questions and voting on t-shirt designs to name a few. It’s a lot of silly fun and it doesn’t matter what your skill level is.
We also decided to watch ‘Floor is Lava’ on Netflix. Oh we will never get that hour back! It was good for a laugh as it was so cringy, but I don’t think we’ll be watching it again…once is enough.
Now it’s over to you, what word or phrase sums up your week this week?
I’m so glad you’ve had a lot of good times this week Anne. I can imagine it becomes hard at times with seven people under one roof so it’s so nice to hear that you’ve all been getting on well and enjoying birthday celebrations too! 🙂 If you haven’t already, you need to watch Eurovision. (Maybe just yourself and the older kids as there are a few mature moments.) It’s so funny! #wotw

It was toss up whether to watch Eurovision or Floor is Lava, I guess we can watch that another night. Actually, my eldest really enjoys the funnier moments of Eurovision so I think she’ll enjoy it. x
I’m glad that your daughter had a nice birthday in spite of lockdown and that everyone is getting on so well together. Large families are wonderful when everyone is getting along well especially when you can’t escape from each other so easily at the moment when needing moments to yourself. Sorry to hear that you’ve had a couple of days of struggling health-wise and hope that you are feeling better now. Jackbox.tv sounds like fun. Thanks for hosting #WotW
Thank you, it helps having family around, even at times when I’d rather just curl up and go to sleep (not that I’m able to curl up.) There is always someone to keep an eye on me. And when we are all getting on it’s even better.
The weather has been bad around here, which makes things a bit draggy, some days, but our kids are doing alright, at least. More going out this past while, which is good. #WotW
I hope your daughter had a good birthday! I managed to sneak my birthday in right before lockdown, but my plans were still changed. Nevermind! There will be another one next year. I’ve seen that floor is lava advertised on netflix… is it really that bad? I think I’ll give it a miss! #wotw
Happy birthday to your eldest daughter. It sounds like she had a good day.
So sorry you haven’t been feeling great.
That Jackbox.tv game sounds like fun and I have just looked at a clip of Floor is Lava and it looks like something my two would love. lol

I’m glad your daughter enjoyed her birthday 🙂 I saw something about Floor Is Lava, I must admit I thought it looked a bit naff!
