Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is ‘Days’ and you can read more about that below.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week. There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest board devoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
Word of the Week is open from 6am on Friday Morning to 12 noon on Monday. Plenty of time to join in!
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
MY WORD OF THE WEEK – Days
It’s 9.40 am on Friday and I’m just scribbling in this post….because I forgot it was Friday. I’ve been meaning to schedule a post all week but I don’t know what happened…where do the days go?
First up, the kids were not at school or college on Friday last week so I though it was Saturday. Then Saturday became Sunday, but by Monday I had no idea where I was. The week has literally flown by and we have achieved NOTHING! Thanks to illness and sour moods.
Sleep has been erratic, the neighbours have just about driven me crazy, I long for the moment I see them get in the car and go out somewhere…I can’t wait for them to go back to school. The children are so, so noisy and I’m fed up of being woken up by keyboard playing before 7am. I want to send around a pair of headphones, but honestly, the way she bashes the keys would probably wake me anyway. We won’t talk about the screaming. I nearly called the police the other day because I thought someone was being murdered. I actually knocked on the wall!! Then I heard a parent trying to calm the racket. They’ve only been living there a few weeks. We have noise from all neighbours, I want to move somewhere quiet in the middle of nowhere. Heck, I’d even give up internet access for peace.
I’ve had three hospital phone appointments this week and one GP appointment. I’m sick of talking about sickness. I am surprised I didn’t get the days mixed up for those but with endless text reminders it would have been difficult. Just one more appointment today as Boo has an eye test this afternoon.
Graham forgot the days too and didn’t remember to put the recycling out…and we have a LOT. So, now he’s going to have to go to the recycling centre before we drown in cardboard and plastic. I try to re-use and buy less but it still builds up, especially when you miss a collection. Thankfully, he heard the bin men coming and put the rubbish out.
The Little Man’s bedroom has not been done. We had a clear out, but the job is much bigger than I expected and even in a supervisory only role, I was shattered within minutes.
The days this week have flown by and soon the kids will be back at school and college.
It’s not unusual for a week off to totally mess up your days though.
I hope you are having a less stressful week than me. Now it’s over to you, what word or phrase sums up your week this week?
Sorry, it’s been such a not-so-nice week for you. We had one of those too. Thankfully no noisy neighbours though.
I know what it can be like with less sleep and the resulting sour moods. Little Man’s room situation reminds me so much of our own where we seem to be working hard but not really going anywhere fast!
We feel your pain. Sometimes I wish I could snap my fingers and things just magically fix themselves. I tell myself all the time: It might be long, but it won’t be forever.
Fingers crossed that next week is better.
Oh I know the feeling! I’ve been convinced it’s the weekend since Thursday…. and the clocks going back an hour on Sunday won’t help!
I don’t think it feels like a Friday today, I’ve done all of my Friday things but I’m just not feeling it.
Oh no! So sorry about the illness and sour moods. The neighbours sound so annoying. Sending love and hugs x

Having a day off from school and college really throws things out when trying to work out what day it is, doesn’t it? I’m so sorry you’ve had such a stressful week. The noisy neighbours sound like a nightmare. I don’t think that’s very considerate allowing the children to play the keyboard that early in the morning. We have a rule in our house of no piano playing before 9am. It’s a pain when you miss the bin collection – we find the recycling builds up quickly too even with trying to reduce and reuse. Hope that this week is a quieter and calmer one for you x #WotW
