Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is ‘Slower’ and you can read more about that below.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week. There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest board devoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
Word of the Week is open from 6am on Friday Morning to 12 noon on Monday. Plenty of time to join in!
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
My Word This Week is Slower
It’s been a busy week, but I have chosen the word the word slower and I do have my reasons.
It’s been treatment week so I’ve been out of the house a lot. But I’ve been having my infusions slower. I told them about the migraines I’ve been having and they said I could reduce the speed of my immunogloblulins and hopefully it would help me. I’ve still have to drink 3 litres of water every day, and I will continue to do this until at least Monday. I have had to stay at the hospital longer but its been quite relaxed. (well for me, the poor nurses were rushed off their feet.)
We have also felt the half term looming and with all the crazy things that have been going on in the school this week we have been taking things slower. The Little Man had a day off school so we could sort things out, but he’s back now and seems a little happier. I had a good talk on the phone with the head of year and hopefully his problems will be sorted.
I’ve been slowing down in the evening too. A couple of times last week I had worn myself out with the the time spent in the kitchen. Graham is always helping but sometimes it’s just too much for me. I have been tired after my infusions so we chosen easier meals so we can get meal times done with less effort.
I’ve been trying to prepare things advance so we have had no morning rushes and no bedtime rushes. Getting things ready in advance makes life so much easier.
Today, Thursday, I’ve had a load of jobs to do, but I wrote a list and worked through them slowly. This blog post is last on my list and it’s not even lunch time. Being organized means you can take things slower.
Next week we will be slowing down and enjoying half term….but I may be adding a day out. Some kind person offered to pay for a day out for us to cheer up the Little Man after his bullying at school. I felt overwhelmed with their kindness but I had to turn them down. We had a little windfall this week so a day out is definitely on the cards. It may or may not involve chocolate, depending on what the kids want to do.
Now it’s over to you, what word or phrase sums up your word this week?
Last week my word of the week was Mental Health
I hope your treatment went well and it has helped with the infusions being slower.
I hope your Little Man is getting on OK at school now. I’m glad he’s a little happier.
It sounds like you are in a good routine perparing and organizing things.
How lovely that someone offered to pay for a day out, that is so kind. Congrats on your windfall. I hope you have a great half term x
Slow and steady wins!
I do hope you and your family enjoy the half-term break and the day out, chocolate or not.
Hope that the slower infusion will help reduce the migraines. I’m glad you managed to finally have a talk with the head of year about Little Man and really hope that things will be better for him after half-term. I can imagine the half-term break from school is very much needed at the moment with everything that has been happening. Hope that you have a good one. #WotW
I hope having your treatments in this way is helping you. Slower is a good word. I need to have some slow time, hopefully, in a few weeks, I can. I hope you do get to enjoy a day out in the half-term #WotW
It is, good to go in the slow lane. I I hope the treatment went well for you x #mmbc
