Last week I left you feeling tired. But this week I’m Chilling.
A Trip to the GP
I had a trip to the GP because of a few issues I’ve been having with my health. I now have to go for blood tests and an ECG. I’m okay, but it’s probably best I’m taking things easy.
I don’t have my tests until next week, I’m pretty sure that nothing will show up, I’ve had them done before. I’m just a bit weird that’s all.
Birthdays
Last Friday was Boo’s 11th birthday and she had a lovely day. Her friend came around for a party tea and they played in the garden. She decorated her own birthday cake and we lit the candles and sang Happy Birthday.
Then later I introduced her to The Greatest Showman, which she loved. I knew she would, she loves singing and dancing.
Next week it is the Little Man’s birthday. I’ve not made any plans yet. I do have his presents but he also has some money to spend so we’ll be taking a trip to Smyths Toy Store. I’ve saved a little back from Boo’s birthday so she can buy something too, and lucky Star will get some of her birthday money early. I guess it’s only fair as we will be on holiday when it’s her birthday!
A Chilled Out Weekend
On Saturday, I was still tired and unwell and Graham was out for the day as he was off to a charity gig in memory of his friend Robin who died suddenly earlier this year. I was originally going with him, but it was a bit far and he had a lot to do to help with setting up and running people around. It would have been a very long day for me and the kids and we probably would not have made it. So we stayed home. But it wasn’t so bad.
We watched Jumanji 2, which was brilliant. I actually thought it was better than the first film but I love Robin Williams so I won’t say that out loud.
Sunday was another chilled out day. Boo has discovered, thanks to her big brother, My Ordinary Life. A Japanese anime. It’s totally bonkers, and subtitled, but Boo loves it and is already up to episode 8.
So my word of the week this week is Chilling. We have a lot of things happening in the next few weeks, another Birthday, a Christening and a holiday, so this has been my chance to sit back and relax.
And while I’m feeling chilled, I’ve also been feeling a little chilly. The change in the weather was welcome, and the cool breeze a truer breath of fresh air was never felt.
EDIT: I wrote this a bit earlier in the week and the weather has changed again, Summer has resumed.
Sounds lovely and relaxing – hope all is well with you and your tests at the doctors #keepingitreal
A chilled out week sounds like just what you needed. It was nice to have that break in the weather and cool down for a bit. Glad Boo has a good birthday and hope Little Man has a fun birthday too. Hope you are feeling better soon and that the test results are okay. #WotW
With all you’ve had going on and the plans for the next couple of weeks just around the corner you definitely deserve a calmer couple of days! Sometimes you need some downtime just to process it all don’t you? 🙂 #WotW
I LOVE the greatest showman, we all do. Love the idea of helping to make the cake. And yes to chilled out weeks filled with sunshine x
I hope everything goes OK with the tests…
It sounds like Boo had a fab birthday. Ahh! We love The Greatest Showman here. I hope your boy has a fab birthday too.
The cooler weather has been nice. It’s rained here all day but it has warmed back up again. Ugh.
Nothing better than a chilled out week I think! I loved the Jumanji film too, it is hard to choose between the 2 which I like more. I’m glad Boo had a lovely birthday, I hope Little Man’s goes well too. #wotw
I’m glad to hear that you’ve been resting up, I hope your results come back clear. It sounds like your house has been one of celebration this week with so many birthdays ! I saw your daughters cake on Instagram, she did a smashing job with it. The weather has cooled considerably here thank goodness, we are not due any more high temperatures in the North for which I’m very grateful. Hope you have a lovely restful weekend x
We are still waiting for summer to resume up north, ah Anne sending love and hoping all the results are positive. And happy birthday Boo and little Man, I need to watch Jumanji but not sure I could ever love it as much as the first one x
I’ve still yet to watch The Greatest Showman – what am I like! #MMBC
I love. Good chill out,it shows for everyone not to be permently on the go. I admire you for taking your kids to Smiths, not sure if I could deal with every two mins I want that, lol X #wotw

Sounds like a good week, nice to take the time to relax. I’m glad Boo enjoyed herself and yes, my two adore The Greatest Showman too. As do I! Hope the tests all go well x Thanks for sharing with #WotW
HI Anne, I hope all goes well with your test and that nothing nasty shows up… My Mum was on about the Greatest Showman the other day, she saw it at the cinema when she was in the UK and loved it… It sounds like the summer is birthday time for your family. It’s always exciting for children to go to the toy shop with money in their hand and it’s interesting to see what they pick up… I hope a nice amount of money was raised at the charity gig? It’s so sad when someone passes away suddenly or before their time. It sounds like you needed the rest at home (looking after children, what am I on about?)… This UK summer has to beat the summer of ’76 for duration, fingers crossed it cools a tad for your holiday.
Thank you for linking up with #keepingitreal.
