We have had some lovely weather this week, it has really begun to brighten up. The other day I looked out at the trees at the bottom of my garden and thought that yes, they would soon be green or full of blossom.
Today, Sunday, it’s not so warm. The sun is out but it’s really quite blowy out there and I’m feeling cold again.
The clocks went forward last night. I thought it was strange when I looked at the clock and it said 6.30am and The Little Man hadn’t come in to wake me up. He’s a real early bird. I stayed awake for while, unable to go back to sleep and feeling annoyed that I wasn’t enjoying a lie-in. Then it clicked that the clocks had gone forward and there I was lying awake at what really was 5.30am. Another early night for me tonight then.
When the Little Man did come in at 7.30am he was so proud of himself for giving me a lie-in. Bless him.
Birds
The birds have come back to the trees and what I have noticed this week is two very loud woodpeckers. I haven’t managed to get a photo, the trees are quite dense and I can’t really get far into the garden. We also have owls that like to have their input at night. I do love waking up to bird calls though.
Things are difficult at the moment, so I want to finish my post with something that happened last year that was really quite magical. We were on holiday in Cornwall and went to a place called Paradise Park. We hadn’t had a very good week weather wise, but on this day the sun shone brightly and made some wonderful memories. The highlight of the day was going into the rainbow display of Lorikeets. They were the most colourful beautiful little birds and happy to come and feed from the nectar held in your hand.
I hope that everyone is staying home and staying safe. Let’s hope the weather cheers up again soon, even if you can’t go out at least it’s nice to see some sun through your window and in your garden, if you have one. Much love to you all x
Those Lorikeets are amazing. What stunning colours. The weather has been improving a little, still cold, but nice to see some sunshine. My little Miss is not understanding why she can’t get out to play with her friends. The garden is a great place to be and although it seems a little strange to hear the birds, I feel like the world should just stop for a bit. Lots of love and I hear you on the sleeping front xx #mysundaysnapshot

Oh no! Shame you didn’t get a lie in.

It is good to see the signs of spring. I think we appreciate them more than ever in these difficult times. It must be amazing to see and hear woodpeckers and owls.
What a lovely, happy picture from last year! (And what a brave boy.)
Oh wow – that is such an amazing photo. Thanks for sharing and for linking up with #MySundaySnapshot
