I’m not ready to give up on the holiday snaps yet, so here is a photo of the Weymouth clock. And a bonus photo of the outdoor pool after hours.
When I posted on Facebook that I was in Weymouth, and old school friend told me how she used to love family holidays in Weymouth and they were always told that if they got separated from family they should meet up by the clock. It really is hard to miss.
The Jubilee Clock Tower is a free-standing clock tower on the Esplanade of Weymouth, Dorset, England. It was built and erected in 1888 to commemorate the 1887 Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria and became Grade II Listed in 1974.

I took this photo while waiting for the bus and you can see the dark clouds approaching. It rained just before the bus arrived and we had a real downpour. However, it had stopped by the time we were back at the holiday park 15 minutes later, and the boys even went for a swim in the outdoor pool. It really does sum up our holiday weather. We’d had the most glorious warm day on the beach and sea front, eating our lunch and later ice creams outside. Thankfully the downpour was short lived.
I took this photo of the pool at sunset on the same evening. It’s starting to get dark, but the sky is clear.
I love the coloured changing rooms. The boys said the pools were lovely and warm and they played music and provided lots of pool toys for fun. I got berated by Boo for taking the photo as there was a big sign saying ‘No Photography’ but I pointed out to her that I do follow rules. The photography rule was to protect the privacy of people in their swimsuits and I had taken a photo while the pool was empty so I wasn’t infringing on anyone’s privacy. She understood, but then pointed out a professional photo of the pool where there were people having fun and I had to point out that they were ‘actors’ and had posed for the photographs.
Fantastic photos.
That is a good idea to meet up at the clock if you get separated from family.
I love the look of that pool. It sounds like a lot of fun. x
The pool was fantastic fun and I’m glad my boys got the chance to enjoy it. They didn’t even take towels, they went in their trunks and then ran back to the caravan afterwards to dry off! x
Awesome snaps! The Weymouth clock is indeed hard to miss! Your explanation about the photography rule was amusing.
My daughter likes everything explained in detail, lol
I remember that clock! It’s great that you have so many lovely holiday memories :o)

It’s hard to forget the clock. I’d definitely visit Weymouth again, I’d love to stay in a hotel on the sea front.
The clock is so recognisable! We have friends who live in Weymouth and have visited them a few times, although I’m sad to say we haven’t visited for three years now. I had no idea the clock was as old as that.
The colourful huts around the pool look really lovely.
That’s such a unique and quirky clock – I love it! Thanks for sharing and for linking up with #MySundaySnapshot.
