Yesterday I spent visiting my family. In years past this would have been going from house to house, dropping off presents, enjoying Nan’s home made mince pies and spreading Christmas cheer. Yesterday I visited my Mum, Dad, nan and brother.
When you’ve been blogging as long as I have, Christmas can be a bit repetitive. I wrote a post just a couple of years ago that summed up Christmas for me A Christmas Story Then and Now. And as time goes go by things change again. My children are no longer little and present buying is very different. Christmas eve excitement and Christmas morning is a very different scene to what it would be in previous years.
Blogging is definitely a bonus when you can hold all of your happy memories in one post like this one, Merry Christmas Through the Years. The older kids don’t feature because they’ve asked not too, but I have some wonderful Christmas memories (And photos) of them too.
This time next week it will be Christmas Eve! I curse all those people who said not to mention the C word in November. I bet you they were the ones who had all their preparations made and presents brought and wrapped by the first week in December. I’m still looking for the wrapping paper and waiting on some deliveries.
This week is going to be a whirlwind. For now I have two more forms to fill in by tomorrow for my kids. Then it’s Christmas food shopping with the big kids. I’ve done the basics, but they are going to fill in all the goodies, and I’m going along to make sure the trolley isn’t filled with alcohol. They are paying so I’m not fretting too much.
The turkey is ordered and we have a time slot for pick up. I have some more wrapping to do and I will see my brother and Sister-in-law before Christmas. Then we will batten down the hatches and just enjoy the break.
Sending love and hugs.
Christmas has changed for us so much over the last 5 years or so since the kids have got older. I love that I have my blog with all the old photos.
All I have left to do is the online food shop. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas. x
Christmas certainly does change as the kids get older. I hope you are all able to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing one.
Merry Christmas! x
