I’ve decided to join in with #Blogtober16 which is being held on Hexmum Blog and today’s theme is Who Are You?
Well, I’m Anne, hello, I’m 50 years old, I have five children and I’m getting married next month.
Some facts about me:
I always thought my name was Anne-Marie, my mum told me it was, it was what I was called at school, it’s on all my medical records and every certificate, bill, bank statement etc etc. This year I found out that on the actual birth register my name is Anne Marie…yes, no hyphen. I have a middle name! I don’t know how I escaped knowing for so long, I even have Anne-Marie on my first marriage certificate and divorce papers! So next month I will be getting married as Anne Marie and as my surname is changing it gives me the opportunity to change my name everywhere.
I have five children but it’s not so impressive. Two of them, from my previous marriage where already into the second half of their teens when I had the other three. So now I have two adult children and three young children. I have two boys, eldest and youngest, and three girls in between. I am truly blessed. I don’t talk about my eldest two on my blog as they are adults. The three youngest have nicknames, Star, Boo and The Little Man, they are 11 yrs, 9 yrs and 6 yrs old.
My kids have ombre hair, by that I mean they go down in gradients, my eldest hair is so dark it’s almost black, the next brown, the next light brown, then even lighter finally my youngest is blonde. My hair is somewhere in the middle, Nice and Easy No5. Although sometimes I push the boat out with the redder No5r.
For those that don’t know me already I have a very rare condition called Transverse Myelitis which happened suddenly on 1st January this year and left me in a wheelchair. I’m still learning to walk.
I’ve been with my partner, Graham, for 16 years on the day we get married, November 26th, which also happens to be my birthday…no need to remember three separate dates!
I’ve been blogging here since 2011, Previously I had a baby blog which I logged my youngest son’s journey, previous to that I had a personal blog, much like this but it was more personal and I used it as a kind of therapy for talking about my mum’s cancer and passing in 2008, previous to that I had a blog following my trying to conceive journey and the birth of my two youngest which I started in 2003, previous to that (yes, I’ve been blogging for quite a while) I had a blog which I set up in the library where I worked. It was very basic and nothing like the blog you see these days, I started that way back in 1999!!
Here’s a photo of me and my hubby-to-be at a posh ‘do’ last month.

Nice to meet you Anne! That's fascinating about your name!!!!
That's so interesting about your name! All the best for your wedding day, how lovely to pick the day you became partners 🙂
It's nice to know more about you!
hehehe. That's so funny about your name.
Welcome to #Blogtober16, I am looking forward to reading all of your posts, and good luck for your wedding day, which is also my cousins birthday! Five children is impressive, especially as you practically started again, going from teen to baby, there is only 2 to 3 years between all of mine so I never got out of the baby/toddler stage until now!
Lovely to meet you, and good luck for your upcoming wedding x
It was a pleasure to meet you and best wishes on your upcoming nuptials.
That's such an interesting fact about your name! Good luck for your upcoming wedding, I'm getting hitched on December 18th. I notice from your bio that one of your children has Ehlers Danlos Syndrome – my daughter and I have EDS, it's really great to meet other bloggers with knowledge of the condition! Looking forwards to reading more of your posts throughout Blogtober!
Hello Anne, congratulations on your upcomming wedding – such an exciting time #Blogtober2016
