Boo is obsessesed, I mean really really OBSESSED with the Littlest Pet Shop. She has at least a hundred of the little toys, then there are the houses and accessories too. She started with a shoe box full and now she has two shoe boxes and an extra big box we bought from Home Sense (I’m a little obsessed with the boxes you can buy in Home Sense!) and then there are all the ones that are in her houses.
When she’s not playing with the little toys she is watching You Tube videos of other people playing with them. Or videos of people shopping for them or making accessories for them. When she’s not doing that she’s drawing pictures of them in her drawing pad, or writing stories about them in her notebook. She even dreams about them, she told me so!
I can’t remember when the obsession began but I know she had some for her birthday last year in July, so that’s well over a year ago. They can be expensive costing around £8 for a single one, you can save money by buying in sets or bulk or second hand. I wanted to get her as many as possible for her birthday last year so I paid £50 for a bundle of 20 figures, a house and some accessories on Ebay. She was thrilled.
Sometimes Star will play with her, but although Star was just as obsessed at first, her obsession seems to have worn off a little, especially since they stopped customising them.

I know that I’ve spent a fortune on Littlest Pet Shop figures but I’ve also spent money on paint, air drying clay, beading kits, Fimo, and moulds. They have spent hours and hours at the kitchen table working on their little creations, turning them from one creature to another or just adding decorations. The weirdest was when they started turning them into Undertale characters!!

They seemed to have calmed down on the complete customisation now though and just make them little accessories with beads and scraps of fabric. I’ve even crocheted them a couple of hats and a sleeping bed.
We went through a Shopkins obsession, but our main bag here is Monster High. Emma (my 9 year old) bought herself the MH school last Christmas and they still play with it like crazy. It was a good investment for her, but not so good for my living room! We might have to put it away when we put the tree up – there's no room otherwise.
