Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week, a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is sick and you can read more about that below.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase but please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Since adding this link up party to a directory I’ve noticed a lot of posts, in particular, recipe posts, that do not fit in with the theme of this linky. I have made the decision to remove these posts from further link ups. So please don’t link up anything unless it includes a summary of your week or events in your life. Thank you for your understanding
There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest board devoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
Word of the Week is open from 6am on Friday Morning to 12 noon on Monday. Plenty of time to join in!
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
MY WORD OF THE WEEK – Sick
It was my birthday on Tuesday, I had a lovely day, nice gifts and cards and my friend came around to visit after the kids had gone to bed. Graham was upstairs watching football. Then after my friend left I could hear the Little Man calling. I told him I was coming up, but he knows I’m really slow. I really wasn’t expecting to see what I did, his bed was floating in a sea of sick. It was everywhere.
I called Graham who had fallen asleep in front of the football (which is perfectly understandable to me) and he came and cleaned up the bedroom, while I cleaned up the Little Man. I didn’t take my medication that night so I could be awake if he needed me. And he did, several times. We managed to keep him away from the girls who went to school as normal the next day.
He had stopped vomiting by around 2pm but was so tired that he went to bed early and we managed to keep him seperated from everyone else except me and and his Dad. He slept well. I didn’t.
I started vomiting about 10.30pm and finished around 7am. Again, I’d not had my medication and my pain was becoming unbearable. Graham got up with the girls in the morning and took them to school, Again avoiding me and the Little Man stayed home, even though he was feeling better we know it’s best to keep the quarentine. I’ve been feeling pretty rough all day but I’ve managed to keep down a cup of soup and several glasses of water. I just want to sleep now.
By the time you read this I will hopefully be well again.
Now it’s your turn to share what you’ve been up to this week. (I hope it’s been a better week than mine.)
Oh no Anne! A not so Happy Birthday. I hope you’re feeling better now and back to normal sleep patterns. I can’t imagine you were in any sort of mood to celebrate when the little one was so sick, maybe you can enjoy a delayed birthday this weekend instead! #WotW
Oh dear 🙁 I hope you both feel better soon and no one else gets it x
Graham has it now. I’m making him stay in the bedroom. The girls and big kids have survived so far, I don’t want anyone else to get it! Me and the Little Man are doing okay now x
Oh no! What a rubbish way to end your birthday. Your poor Little Man and you! I hope you both feel better soon and it doesn’t spread to the rest of the family.
I had a message of my youngest girls school to say if your child is feeling sick or has been sick keep them off as there’s a nasty bug going around. Eek! x
Oh no, poor you and poor Little Man. That sounds like a horrible bug you both had. Glad you did at least manage to enjoy some of your birthday before you both became unwell, and hope that you are both feeling much better again.
