Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My phrase this week is ‘repairing’ and you can read more about that below.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week. There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest board devoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
Word of the Week is open from 6am on Friday Morning to 12 noon on Monday. Plenty of time to join in!
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
MY WORD OF THE WEEK – Repairing
Last week we were struggling but now things are getting better so I’ve chosen the word repairing.
The girls are feeling better and have been going into school every day. It’s been a lot easier this week. We realised our routine and indeed our life needing repairing, so we made some changes and things have improved already.
You may remember I was having some trouble with my crochet project, well I continued and eventually got it all worked out. Then when finished I realised it still wasn’t right. I went on to a group for help and found there were others having the same problems. So together we are repairing the pattern and hopefully, I will get my shawl. (I do have to wait for some more wool to come back in stock though.) In the meantime, my blanket is coming along lovely.
We have also had a leak in our downstairs bathroom which has caused a slow flood which I’ve had to mop up regularly. We had a plumber out to repair it but he ended up making it worse. Thankfully we got him back and fingers crossed the leak has stopped now.
Things are looking better and now I’m thinking of Christmas and how I can make it nice this year. I feel so bad for all those who may have to miss out on family celebrations. We are already a household of seven so my home never feels empty. I couldn’t imagine being without my family. Fingers crossed that this current lock down goes some way into repairing the damage being done by the virus and we can get through this and look to a happier future.
I’m trying a new badge code this week so please let me know if you have any trouble with it as it may need repairing 🙂
I’m glad you are doing better this week, and that a little repairing has gone a long way to making life easier. We have been wondering about Christmas too, we are only 4 so might be able to see my parents but not my in laws as they are three. Fingers crossed this situation starts to improve.
So glad to hear that everyone in your home is feeling better. Repair is a great word of the week. Mine is “smile” because sometimes smiling and pressing forward is simply the best thing to do. Overall, we are blessed. So this week, I am smiling and enjoying the ride.
Thank you for another great link-up. Wishing you a happy Friday!

I am glad things are improving for you and your family. That’s great news that the girls have been to school every day.
Well done for sorting out the crochet project. It sounds like you’re on the right track now.
Ugh! About the flood. I am glad it’s fixed now.
I think we all deserve to have a good Christmas this year. We’re having no visitors for the rest of the year coming into the house. My dad been ill has scared us all and I want to stay safe.
Sorry I can’t help to see if the badge works. I cheat and have it saved as an image and add it every week, then link to you because blogger is a pain with adding codes. x

I link up a couple of badge images myself because they don’t turn out right. I’m hoping the code works though because I’m playing to have the image hosted and it’s the only one so I can stop the payments if it does work 🙂 I don’t blame you for banning visitors, it must be real scary after your Dad getting sick xx
Repairing sounds like a good change of mindset. I hope the girls are enjoying being back at school. It’s good that you’ve found other people having problems with the crochet pattern and you’re working together to fix it. Isn’t the internet amazing! We’ve already made the decision to not visit grandparents, whatever the Government decides. Just drop off presents and go. Unless by some miracle they are vaccinated by then. There are five of us, so never a dull moment. I’m looking forward to doing Christmas slightly differently, this year. Hope next week continues to be a good repairing time for all. #wotw
Yes, I’m sure my brother will just turn up, but it’ll be a fleeting visit. Graham will have to drop presents off to his Mum, but we wont be socialising as such.
I’m glad that you had a better week. Repairing is a nice word after struggling. The shawl pattern sounded very complicated. Glad that the group is helping solve the problems with it together. Fingers crossed that the leak in the bathroom is now all sorted. We’re hoping we can go ahead with our current plans for Christmas. I’ve updated the badge code on this week’s post and the code works fine for me. #WotW
Thank Louise, I’m glad the badge worked for you.
