I had lots of rose bushes in my old home that had been there for many years. I’ve always had trouble growing things since we moved house but this year I’m having some success. I have two willow trees and a rose bush that are doing well. I’ll take photos when I can get up the garden. In the meantime I have some new plants on the patio and one is a small rose bush which I think might actually thrive in the garden now.
The weather has been so lovely lately, but I still haven’t managed to get a shade for my garden. I know the weather is due to change soon, but it would be nice to have a warm summer. And maybe I can see some more things blossom in my garden.
Another new plant is this one, can you guess what it is?
I’m hoping it will give me a lovely crop of delicious strawberries very soon!
My apple tree didn’t arrive, but I’m hoping to have at least three fruit trees next year. I have also bought a clematis to climb up an ugly fence. We are removing the children’s swings and slides from the garden and creating more of a flower haven. The Little Man wants to keep his trampoline a little longer, but I’m thinking of bribing him with a tent instead. He can’t use the trampoline for long anyway as he gets back pain. We suspect he has a connective tissue disorder like his big sister but we are still waiting on test results from February. When Star had hers done it took eight months.
Anyway, I’m digressing. Tell me about all the lovely things you are growing in your garden.

Well done with the gardening. It is such a good feeling when you see things growing. Good luck with the strawberries.
My garden is coming to life at the moment. The wildflowers I planted ages ago are growing and every time I go out there I spot something new x

Loving teh outdoor space in the summer months. We have a lot of strawberry plants but so far, nothing to show this year. I hope this will pick up soon. I don’t know if you have been following us on Instagram but we have hedgehogs in the garden! Most people sound quite excited but we are not! It’s the first time we are seeing hedgehog in real life and they look scary.
Anyway, we have two rose bushes and we pruned them so they are flourishing too but I don’t know if we did it too late but we have no rose flowers yet.
Happy sunshiny summer to you.
hedgehogs are not scary, we had one come into the house one evening when we had left the patio door open! But we’ve also caught them on our security camera and I can’t believe how quickly they move, I always imagined them to slow like a tortoise. Some rose bushes can flower all the way through to Autumn so don’t give up yet.
Your rose is very beautiful! What a glorious colour. I have an orange tree in my garden which gives us loads of fruit in the season. The almond tree is doing well and we should have almonds in a month or so. #MMBC
I would really like almonds, I’ve not researched what nuts I could possibly grow.
Sorry to hear that your apple tree didn’t arrive. We planted one last autumn and it seems to be doing ok although it has a lot of black flies on it. I’m spraying it twice a day with soapy water – hopefully it won’t die!
I planted radish and carrot seeds at the weekend and am also looking forward to eating salad, tomatoes and berries from our new fruit bushes. Not a lot seems to be happening on our strawberry plants though :o(

I’m glad your garden is thriving, I hope the apple tree makes it.
a flowering rose with a sweet scent just makes life better #MMBC
It certainly does. I like a bit of colour in my garden, I think it’s finally starting to settle down and letting me grow things.
Growing fresh fruit in the garden is wonderful, hopefully you’ll get some strawberries soon

I love to read about gardening. The rose is lovely and home-grown strawberries taste so much better. You will love it!!

That rose is so beautiful and how lovely to have strawberries to look forward to. We have raspberries, wild strawberries and several types of roses in our garden and I’m trying to grow flowers to cut and take to Jessica. Hope that you get Little Man’s test results through soon. #MMBC
How lovely to grow your own roses x #mysundayphoto
The rose is beautiful! What a shame about the apple tree though.
A clematis is a great choice. We’ve got three of them and they look stunning, although they take a few years to look that good.
We’ve got so much growing in our garden now and I love it! It is appearing on my Instagram rather frequently now.
