Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is ‘exhausted’ and you can read more about that below.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week. There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest boarddevoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
Word of the Week is open from 6am on Friday Morning to 12 noon on Monday. Plenty of time to join in!
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
MY WORD OF THE WEEK – Exhausted
This week I am tired, no, more than that, I’m exhausted. I can’t even blame the kid’s going back to school because this exhaustion has been creeping up on me slowly. I think I’m just exhausted with life, with dealing with the day to day. I could sleep for a week and that’s for sure. But who can sleep when there is so much going around in your head?
I had to go out on Wednesday, we had a meeting at the college for Star. It was exhausting, even in my wheelchair I found the journey from the car park to the college, then to the meeting room exhausting. I found the meeting exhausting, I knew it wasn’t going to be easy having Star at college, but I didn’t realise just how hard it was going to be. We talked until we exhausted everything, and hopefully came up with solutions. Fingers crossed.
I’m falling behind with all my household jobs. I’m not good at asking for help, but when I do all I ever get is ‘I’ll do it later’ but I’m impatient. If you can’t help me now, then I’ll do it myself. And I’m exhausted. We haven’t even done the Little Man’s bedroom yet. I feel so bad.
I’m exhausted with dealing with everyone else’s problems when I have so many of my own.
I’m exhausted before I’ve even started the day and sometimes I feel to exhausted to go to bed.
I’ve tried to cheer myself up by doing one of my favourite things of all, Christmas shopping! Some may think it’s too early, well don’t blink because it’ll be here before you know it. I’m not a last minute person, I like to be prepared. Even online shopping is exhausting sometimes, but I feel a little sense of achievement in knowing that my family will have at least one present each this Christmas. Now I just need some extra work so I can buy more. Yes, I’m exhausted but losing myself in writing feels like a holiday!
Now it’s over to you, what word or phrase sums up your week this week.
I can absolutely relate to that feeling. Sometimes we put too much pressure on ourselves especially when feeling exhausted. You should try and go easy on yourself (Easier said than done, I know) and focus on just what desperately needs to be done, everything else can wait.
Luckily you have the writing skills that bring you comfort (and pay too). But I know what you mean. All the little little things that we have to do all add up and make things exhausting.
I hope things will go well for Star at college and hopefully they will be able to deal with telephone or even Zoom consultations if you are too exhausted to cope.
Such a pity you can’t get the help when you need it with Little Man’s room too. I know only too well how disappointed you feel. Chin up. There’s next week to look forward to.
I’m sorry you feel so exhausted 🙁 I hope you can carve out a little time to have a nap or write or nap or Christmas shopping or whatever helps you feel better xxx
Sending love and big hugs to you. It sounds like you have a lot going on at the moment no wonder you feel exhausted.
It’s not too early for Christmas shopping, it’s better to be organised. x

Sending a big virtual hug your way, Anne. I’m sorry that you’ve had such an exhausting week. Hope writing about it helped a little and that the Christmas shopping is helping too. Hope that you manage to get some rest over the weekend and that next week is a much less exhausting one x #WotW
Sending love and hugs mate. It does sound like you have a lot going on, no wonder you are exhausted.
Christmas shopping always cheers me up too. I hope you manage to make a little time for yourself and recharge. xx
Sending hugs Anne, sorry to hear you are so exhausted. Take good care and enjoy your writing, it’s the one thing that I need for taking care of myself too.
