This week it was Boo’s Birthday and for once I didn’t make her a cake. She did have this lovely chocolate birthday cake from Sainsbury’s though.
I talked about our evening out bowling and then to Frankie and Benny’s as her birthday treat. We didn’t have desert while out because we knew we’d be coming home to this cake. Although, Boo did get a complimentary brownie on the account of it being her birthday.
In the arcade at the bowling alley we enjoyed a few of the machines, including this Minions grabber. We didn’t win one though, you can put a fortune in these machines and not win anything. It’s often cheaper to just buy one!
We still haven’t seen the Minions movie yet, have you? I know the girls really want to see it. (Edit, we’ve seen it now!)
I just had to pop this post in here from Casa Costello, Not only did she make a fabulous Minions cake, she held a fabulous Minions party for her daughter. I’m definitely taking inspiration from this post for this years celebrations.
That’s another birthday down, the next is in 10 days time and the Little Man will be 12 years old. It’s the day after we get back off holiday so his cards and presents are all ready for him. I will have to buy him a birthday cake later though. We may even go bowling again because they gave us a 50% off our next visit. I won’t be going to Frankie and Benny’s again though.
Living in Birmingham I should be able to show you some great photos of the Commonwealth games but we have been keeping our distance. I was watching the marathons yesterday and we could have walked down to watch them go past. It was pretty cool seeing them on television though, going past shops I know and even the place I used to work in the Jewellery Quarter (although it’s completely changed now.) I haven’t been to Centenary Square for a long time and I was shocked to see that they had knocked down the old registry office. I love the aerial views though, you can see the garden on the roof of the library.
Ahh! Cake is cake whether it be homemade of shop bought. It sounds like Boo had a great birthday.
We are hoping to see the Minions movie sometime over the summer. They are funny little things. x
It sounds like a lovely birthday. I haven’t seen the Minions, but my younger son has and he enjoyed it.
It must be very strange seeing places you know so well on TV. We went to the Commonwealth Games on Thursday evening and absolutely loved it!
Such a cute and tasty looking cake! Thanks for linking up and sharing your snaps with #MySundaySnapshot.
So adorable! Love every single detail! Great job!!! Please visit our website for online cake delivery.
Aah thank you so much for the shout out on my minion cake and party. I agree, it is often much cheaper to buy a cuddly toy than try to win one on those grabbers. I’ll let you into a secret, although we often have a houseful of homemade cake – I still buy shop bought too! Can never have too much cake! x
