The Cat Sat On The Mat

The cat sat on the mat! I was really surprised but she loves it.

This is my old cat, Sabby, she’s getting on a bit and I swear she’s a little senile. She doesn’t usually leave me alone and is always trying to sit on my lap, even when I have my laptop on my lap. She stole my lap blanket, it’s hers now, if I bring it out she wants to sit on it.

I bought a mat for the Little Man’s bedroom but it was too big so I put it in the living room. I thought I’d be making a big mistake as the cats generally wreck any mat I have. I get through a lot of rugs trust me. This one was different, first both cats avoided even treading on it. They just didn’t like it. It was weird because like I said, I change my rugs regularly. Then Ash decided he was ok hopping across it when he needed, other than that he’s left it alone. Sabby, however, has decided that it’s a lovely place to curl up. It’s even better than my lap. So, she curls up on the mat and watches the world go by through the patio doors. Or just curls up like this and goes to sleep. She even has her own special little place.

I don’t expect it to last very long, it’s way too light, I don’t think I’ve bought a rug so light in colour before. But for the time being it’s a nice new cat bed, and my lap is finally free!
