Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is ‘Drama’ and you can read more about that below.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING IF YOU WISH TO LINK UP! FROM NOW ON, THOSE NOT FOLLOWING THE RULES WILL BE DELETED.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week. There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. And please only add one post to the link up each week, multiple posts will be deleted. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest board devoted to Word of the Week. Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW

MY WORD OF THE WEEK – Drama
This week seems to have been full of drama. Even though I’ve not left the house.
It started on Monday with the Little Man admitting he didn’t sleep until late on Sunday, even though I’d been in and turned his light out and made him come off his tablet, he went back on and ended up having just five hours sleep. He still went to school though, and I took his tablet away on Tuesday evening so he couldn’t do the same again.
On Wednesday it was Star’s catheter change day. It seemed to go well but we also had to do her two year review…TWO YEARS of being with a catheter. It really made me sad just to think about it. The review wasn’t good either, there has been so much drama in her life in the past two years. We ended up with a call from the GP and now she has to have a face to face appointment.
The change seemed to go well but it became apparent that the catheter wasn’t working quite quickly when Star had an ‘accident’ We had to call the nurse back and she tried again. It was painful but seemed to be working. But it was all too much for Star and she was really upset with all the drama, not just of the day but of her life in general.
The day went on and I noticed there was nothing in her catheter bag and her tummy was swelling. It was blocked again. So we had to call out the emergency service as it was getting late. The nurse who came was lovely and stayed until she made sure the catheter was working well. Drama over for now.
Thursday it was my turn. I had a telephone appointment with a doctor at 9.30am but then Star’s nurse called at the same time to see how she was. Thankfully, I had already checked in on her and she was fine. As soon as I hung up, my doctor called. What was supposed to be a 20 minute called turned out to be 45 minutes as we went through the drama that is my life! It looks like I might be getting a lot more help though.
The next drama was my video call with my immunology nurse for my home treatment. I had just 15 minutes to prepare. I just about made it when I got the call to say she would be 30 minutes late. In the end it all went well though, and I chilled while watching the drama ‘Manifest’ on television, which I’ve been meaning to watch for a long time. I’m only a few episodes in but it’s really good.
One last drama. While eating dinner I had a funny taste in my mouth and something sharp. It turned out to be half of my tooth…thankfully it’s the back of the tooth so not visible and it doesn’t hurt at all. I have made a dentist appointment but while I’m waiting I found some paste that has made a temporary filling to stop it getting infected. Eldest son has also had dental drama this week with an abscess under his tooth, he’s been prescribed anti-biotics which seem to be helping.
I hope your week has been drama free, do link up her with your word of the week.
Eek! My girls have done things like your Little Man, going on tablets and sneaking their TV on when they’re meant to be asleep. Only last week my youngest got a telling off because she turned her TV back on to watch one more episode of a show. I hope he wasn’t too tired.
Oh no! What a drama for Star, I feel sad for her too. I hope her appointment goes well. It sounds like you have some good nurses helping out. Sending love and hugs to her.
That is great news that you will be getting more help. Good luck at the dentist. xx
My eldest is known to pass the early hours away on his iPad! I can always tell, as he is grumpy for the rest of the day.
Poor Star, she really goes through it bless her. I hope she is OK.
Also great to hear you will be getting more help, that must be a relief. xx
Poor Star, that’s awful. I hope she’s sorted out now. And poor you! Us Mum’s have to deal with all the drama and ours gets a bit left behind. I’m glad you are getting more help. Hope the dentist appointment goes well. Hugs for all of you xx
That was a lot of drama! As for Little Man and the tablet, I would put the responsibility on him to hand it over by whatever time you set, then if it’s not handed in by that time, it’s not out the next day. I really hope Star gets the issues sorted soon too. And you. Now I understand why sometimes you are down or upset. It sounds like a lot to deal with. Have a good week.
Fingers crossed for a drama-free week! You’ve had a lot going on. Sending big hugs and prayers xxx
Sorry to hear that you had a week full of drama. It’s a struggle with tablets sometimes isn’t it? We’ve had to do the same with Sophie when she hasn’t come off her tablet when she’s supposed to have done. Poor Star with all the drama over her catheter change. Two years is such a long time to need one and she’s certainly been through a lot with her health issues. I’m glad the nurse sorted it all out and hopefully this week has been a better one for her. Glad that you’re going to get more help though after your doctor’s call and that your immunology nurse appointment went well. Hope that you get your tooth sorted out quickly. #WotW
