On Tuesday I went for an eye and hearing test. I really thought my eyes were getting worse, but it turns out I still only need reading glasses. Which I guess is good news, but has left me wondering why I feel as though I can’t see properly when I the eye test shows I can? Life is just a little blurry sometimes.
Wednesday we had issues going to school with the new p.e kit rule. I had a letter last week which gave a chart on which days each class could go to school in their p.e. kit. Boo’s was Tuesday and the Little Man Wednesday. But, Boo was confused because she knew she also did p.e. on Wednesday. So she went to school in her uniform, but ended up coming home to get changed into her p.e. kit when she saw that the rest of the class were arriving in theirs. She just about made it back to school in time! I think it’s a bit of a strange new rule anyway but it’s worse when the details are blurry.
I’ve started eating according to the Paleo diet this week and I’ve found it pretty easy. I’ve completely cut out sugar, dairy and carbohydrates and I thought it would be difficult, but it’s not. There are so many substitutes. The sugar has been easy to give up as I had practically done that already. The dairy was also quite easy, I’m a big fan of almond milk and coconut milk, but I have missed cheese a little.
I have really missed bread, it has made me see how often I’ll reach for the bread when hungry. I’ve not attempted paleo friendly bread yet, but it all seems rather cake like rather than bread.
I already feel less bloated which is good and I’m hoping things will improve even more. I think I’ve done really well but I will admit to blurring the rules a little at times. I had a jar of sauce in a meal, it was all natural with no added preservatives or colours, but it still had a couple of non paleo ingredients like sunflower oil and sugar, but going paleo means no processed foods. So is it a naughty or not?
Today we have all the kids off school for a teacher training day. I’m hoping that the weather is ok so we can go out somewhere. Otherwise I do have some craft ideas lined up. I’m determined that they are not going to be glued to their screens all day! No blurry eyes for my kids!

My eye sight is terrible. I wear glasses to drive and watch tv. I should wear them at work when I'm on the computer, but I really hate wearing them. The thought of contact lenses freaks me out, but eye sight is getting worse. I hate not being able to see properly. I've considered laser eye surgery, but it's so expensive. Sorry to read of your vision being rather blurry at times. I changed what I ate when pregnant with my daughters. It's surprising how much sugar goes into shop bought that you wouldn't put in if you went home made, #WotW

I do think i ought to cut some sugar out of my diet, but then, i dont drink or smoke so a girls got to have something rebellious in her life! That pe kit rule sounds odd and im sure id be wondering if id got the right days! #wotw

Good job on going Paleo. Sounds like it shouldn't be too difficult for you to do as you're already doing quite a bit of it anyway. I don't think the odd cheat here & there would matter, not as you've done so well in other areas…but that's just me!

Glad to hear that all went well with the eye test. I can't see a thing without mine so can sympathise on the blurriness front! The going to school in PE kit sounds quite confusing.
