Bletchley Park Lake and Mansion.
We visited Bletchley Park on Monday as a treat for my hubby’s birthday. It was a grey day, it rained a fair bit, but then we spent most of the time indoors and we were lucky that our trips in-between buildings were fairly dry. There are lots of separate buildings at Bletchley Park but my favourite was the mansion which you can see beyond this lake.
I’d love to go back in the summer and see the lake surrounded by green and the flowers in the grounds blooming. But even though the day was grey, I still think this is a lovely view.
All the time I spent at Bletchley Park I felt transported back to the 40s, feeling the atmosphere of people busying around from building to building, passing secret messages. A lot of those working there had no idea what they were achieving as each little piece of a puzzle was handled separately, finally solved by those higher up. Each person there had a special role and although the huts they worked in were small and the hours long, I like to think that maybe they had time every now and then, to sit back and enjoy the beauty of the lake and it’s swans.
Have you ever been to Bletchley Park?
I went for a blog event and really enjoyed it especially after the refurb its had since I went decades ago.My son is going for a school trip next week!
Stunning photo, looks like the wind caught the fountain
It is a gorgeous photo! I have not been there yet, but I am definitely going to visit it one day and be transported back into the 40s.

Oh I so want to go here. I love Alan Turing (And did programming at uni) so I’ve always wanted to see it. I hadn’t realised it was so big and beautiful but I think we might have to plan a trip there soon! Happy Birthday to your hubby 🙂
What a stunning place to visit, I’d love to look around the house
