Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week, a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like.
There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. Do try to stick to the theme of summing your week up. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
My Word of the Week
First Born
Today is the birthday of my first born son, and he’s now a lot older than I was when he was born!
The photo is scanned because we didn’t have digital cameras back in 1988. He probably won’t be happy I’ve included it here, but shhh! I won’t tell if you won’t.
He was born at 4.44 pm on a Friday afternoon, by emergency Cesarean Section after getting tangled up in his umbilical cord.
This weekend we are all going out for a meal at Frankie and Bennies. It’s a little tame to his normal requests, last year it was a Korean BBQ and the year before Teppanyaki.
I still remember his 2nd birthday with his big number 2 cake and party at grandma’s house. Where does the time go?
So, I’m choosing ‘first born’ as my word of the week as the week has been dominated with preparations, present and cake buying and card writing. It’s always a special week when a family member has a birthday.
Now it’s your turn, what have you been up to this week?
Happy Birthday to your boy! hope he has a lovely day xx
Thank you Karen, I think he’s in denial, the poor lad is 31 today!
Happy birthday to your first born ! It’s great that you can get together and celebrate his birthday together, hope you enjoy your meal and have a lovely weekend x #wotw
Happy birthday to your son Anne! I saw your tweet earlier about him saying he felt old. I’m 28 in a few weeks and I know what he means! I don’t feel tooooooo old right now, but 30 is creeping up and that scares me a bit! My parents would roll their eyes at me too I’m sure 😛 Have a lovely meal! #WotW
No, believe me, you are still so young in your 30s, then you hit your 40s and life is good. no-one should even begin to think about getting old until you 50s at the very least 🙂
Happy birthday to your eldest. Hope he has a great day and that you all have a lovely weekend celebrating his birthday. #WotW
Happy birthday to your son. I hope he has a fab day and you all have a lovely meal over the weekend. x
Happy birthday to your eldest. I’ve always thought January was a good month to have a birthday. A chance to celebrate. It was my grandmother’s birthday too. Hope your family meal out goes well and you all have a good weekend. Thanks for hosting.
Happy birthday to your son.
Much easier to get masses of pictures these days than it use to be, taking them and waiting on them being processed.
My kids all the nerve to be born in the middle of the night. #wotw .
