The Missing Presents
T’was the night before Boo’s birthday and all through the house…the adults were on a mad hunt for her birthday presents that I had lost.
The kid’s main birthday present this year is a Nintendo Switch and at £270 it was a shared present. So, on their actual birthday’s they will be getting smaller token presents to open. I had the Switch so that was okay but it was Boo’s smaller presents I’d lost. A cover for her tablet, a special drawing pen for her tablet and a dress to wear on her birthday.
I remembered wrapping them up and I knew no-one else was around when I did it. But I could not remember what I’d done with them afterwards. I knew they were not in the living room as we had to remove all the furniture for the new carpet. So they had to be somewhere else, but I’d no clue where.
Eventually, Graham found them under some clothes in a cupboard in our bedroom. I’d looked there but not deep enough to find them. It was 4am when he found them!
The Birthday
Initially, Boo had come into my bedroom at 5am and asked if she could get up. I told her it was way too early and she’d be tired by the time her friends came around so persuaded her to go back to bed. She re-appeared at 7am which was much better.
Boo loved her gifts and also had a fair amount of money in her birthday cards which she was thrilled with.
All three of my chldren had a fun day playing on the Switch and Boo loved trying out her new tablet pen.
At 4pm her two friends arrived and I had food cooking for them so they could have a hot meal that I served around 4.45pm. It was mostly chicken strips and pizza, but they had lots of snacks too. And cake!
The Game
Being 12, Boo is way too old for party games and activities. So, we played a game that I had been gifted and will be reviewing soon. It’s called Jibbergiggle and is based on silly words like ‘Awooga’ and ‘Funkay Monkay.’ It’s so simple to play and causes lots of side splitting laughter!
Cake
Finally it was time to light the candles on the cake and sing Happy Birthday to Boo. Then she blew out the candles and made her wish. The children were all served a piece of cake, and there was extra for them to take home to their siblings.
Happy birthday to my funny, sweet, kind, caring and beautiful little girl Boo.
I used a photo of Boo and her friends on her birthday for My Sunday Photo.
It sounds as if this twelve year old had a seriously awesome birthday! Well done folks and Harry Birthday Boo!
Good job you found those pressies — but all was well in the end!
Yes, but I was so tired all day 🙂
Hi Anne, I’m glad to see that it’s not only our house that has the birthday present Gremlin! I now make notes on my phone so I know where I hide them… It just goes to show that you don’t need a big party to have fun. It sounds like boo had a good time with her friends and that’s what counts.
xx
oooh yes, I could put notes on my calendar just so it pops up and reminds me at the right time…knowing me, I’d forget where I’d made notes otherwise. xx
Sounds like she had a wonderful Birthday #livingarrows
I am always putting things in such safe places that I can never find them again! It looks like she had such a lovely birthday x
Loosing the present is exactly the sort of thing I would do. I am glad you found it. Sounds like a very special birthday x #LivingArrows
Happy Birthday to Boo – it sounds like she had a lovely day with friends. And well done to Graham for finding the presents! #LivingArrows
