It was Boo’s 12th birthday yesterday and she had some friends around for food and cake. These two (Boo is far left) have been her friends since we moved here over five years ago. One of them went to a different secondary school but they still keep in touch.
We did invite two more of her classmates around but they didn’t turn up. This is so common when you have an older child who’s birthday is in the School Summer Holidays. We are used to it as all my three young children have summer holiday birthday’s. Star gave up on birthday parties after her 6th birthday. We’ve not decided what to do with the Little Man on his birthday yet. I’m thinking maybe a fun day out. He has decided that he doesn’t want party.
I’ll Be There For You
I had a go at editing the photo above and came up with this! If you look closely it’s not perfect. But it took me ages to get the girls from UK to New York!
Friends was one of my favourite television shows, and I’ve been watching the re-runs lately and found that my kids love it too. So, I put Boo and her friends in Central Perk Cafe. If I could give them characters, then the one on the far right has to be Pheobe because she’s nuts. The middle one is Rachel and Boo would have to be Monica as she’s my little chef (And a bit of a control freak!)
The birthday months begins. In less than two weeks it’s The Little Man’s 9th birthday, then two weeks later it’s Star’s 14th!

Aww! Happy birthday to Boo.
We don’t bother with parties here either. One of mine has their birthday at the end of August and the other at the start of September! We prefer days out of something with family.
hahaha! I did think the girls had been to the Friends tour thing. I didn’t guess you’d edited the photo. x
It took me about an hour to edit that photo!! It’s still not perfect, I’ve not got the patience or time but I still like it.
Aww, Happy birthday to Boo. We have a family party, but not a school kids one as ours are all January or chirstmas eve. I love the photo, I’d never have guessed you edited. xx
Thank you. When I had my older two their birthday’s were six months apart, exactly!
You have some serious photo editing skills – that is awesome! Thanks for sharing and for linking up with #MySundaySnapshot.
I can spot the errors, but I enjoyed making it. 🙂
Oh my goodness, what a busy birthday month! What a lovely photo of Boo with her friends. We’d never watched Friends before (we’re probably the only people in the world), but my husband stumbled across it the other day and laughed his way through two episodes.
It just doesn’t get old. I watched it like an addict when it was popular and cried my eyes out when it finished lol
Hi Anne, now you planned that right at least the children never have school on their birthdays. But it is a shame that people don’t turn up for the parties. Are people really that busy? At least your children don’t seem to mind and they could always be like the queen and have 2 birthdays! One in term time!
I love your photo, very clever. The girls should show their friends just what they missed out on – they need never know the truth!
xx
We’ve given out party invites in the past, with Star her birthday is week before they go back to school, so it seems that no-one remembered. I even collected mobile numbers one year so I could send reminders but still not many turned up..we ended up going around houses on the street to ask kids if they’d like to come and help eat all the food I’d prepared! For that reason the Little Man has only had parties with close families and friends because his birthday is right in the middle of the holiday. And poor Boo, her birthday is shortly after they break up so you’d think she’d have more turn up, but we gave up even trying and now she just invites her best friends. xx
Wow that’s quite an editing job – well done! #MySundaySnapshot
