Merry Christmas Everyone
I hope this year you can put a little love in your heart. I’ve a feeling we are going to need all we can get. I love this song. The first time I heard it was in the movie ‘Scrooged.’ You can see clips of the film in the video above. I loved the ghost of Christmas present. It’s also special to me this year because its one of the songs they sang at my son’s Christmas performance this year.
Lyrics
Think of your fellow man
Lend him a helping hand
Put a little love in your heartYou see it’s getting late
Oh, please don’t hesitate
Put a little love in your heartAnd the world will be a better place
And the world will be a better place
For you and me
You just wait and seeAnother day goes by
Still the children cry
Put a little love in your heartIf you want the world to know
We won’t let hatred grow
Put a little love in your heartAnd the world will be a better place
All the world will be a better place
For you and me
You just wait and see, wait and seeTake a good look around
And if you’re looking down
Put a little love in your heartI hope when you decide
Kindness will be your guide
Put a little love in your heartAnd the world will be a better place
And the world will be a better place
For you and me
You just wait and seePeople now, put a little love in your heart
Each and every day
Put a little love in your heart
There’s no other way
Put a little love in your heart
It’s up to you
Put a little love in your heart
Come on and
Put a little love in your heart
You’ve got to
Put a little love in your heart

What Can You Do?
In a world that has seemingly gone crazy and everyone is fighting. Not just here in the UK but practically everywhere. What can you do to make a difference. You make think, not a lot, you are only one person. But one person can help a lot and encourage others to do the same. Then the difference will be huge.
Here’s a few ideas:
- Smile – how easy is that. Smiling at someone can make their day. Yes, you could be greeted with a scowl in return, but don’ let that put you off, there are definitely some Scrooge’s out there. But do keep smiling.
- Be Kind – Even when someone is arguing with you, accept that they may have a different view and don’t fight back. Of course you are entitled to your view too, but it can be put across kindly, there is no need for abuse.
- Give – give whatever you can, it always makes you feel better if you are doing it because you want to. Give to charities, food banks, that homeless person you pass every day. Or simply give to a relative that may be struggling. Remember, that giving doesn’t have to be monitary either, you can give your time or understanding too.
- Don’t Judge – you don’t know what someone is going through. That child being naughty in the restaurant may have a condition that means their behaviour is difficult to control. That homeless person on the street may have been through an unimaginable tough time to be in that position. Don’t judge, you never know what is around the corner and you too could find yourself in a difficult situation. Then you will understand why judging people is so awful.
- Put a Little Love in Your Heart – no matter how sad, or awful you feel, share some love, even if it’s only from your pet. It will make you feel so much better.
Charity.
No matter how small my income I made a promise many years ago that I would donate a percentage of it to charities. Here are some that are closest to my heart.
Rare Disease.org – covering research into rare diseases including the genetic alliance and SWAN
The Family Fund – helping family with disabled children
NSPCC – National Society for the Provention of Cruelty to Children
JAR project – set up by my lovely friends and commited to finding a cure for Juvenile Arthritis Research.
Elhers Danlos Society – Improving the life of those with EDS
Marfan Trust – For research into Marfan Syndrome
Cancer Research UK – supports research in all cancers
Stiff Person Syndrome – supporting research and helping those with Stiff Person Syndrome.
Have a lovely Christmas, Anne???
