Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is ‘head’ and you can read more about that below.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week. There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest board devoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
Word of the Week is open from 6am on Friday Morning to 12 noon on Monday. Plenty of time to join in!
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
MY WORD OF THE WEEK – Head
Where’s your Head At?
This week it has felt like I have had a 100 things running around in my head. And to be fair, my head can’t really take it right now.
I’ve been in hospital every day hooked up having my infusions made from human blood plasma…a very big thank you to all you blood donators out there. I haven’t been on the day ward for over a year but it was lovely that the staff remembered me. They see so many people each day and I’ve always thought myself as a totally unmemorable person, so it has meant a lot to me that I was recognised.
Of course, pulling stunts like having the nurses search for my glasses because I couldn’t find them, and then discovering they were actually on my face does go a little way to my memorability!
The infusions give me headaches which are not nice. I have to have them slowly because I once had aseptic meningitis caused by the treatment. That was no fun. Thankfully it was treated with pain relief and rest. Of course, it may be the reason why I have brain issues now, but I guess that’s something I’m still waiting to find out.
I’m sometimes good at using my head, but I’m not always so good at keeping it. My family have me labelled as a ‘flapper’ not the 20s style dancing dress, but the type that flaps around worrying about everything. And they are not wrong.
This week I’ve been losing my head over most things. It’s all been a little overwhelming. I’ve had to think of appointments, school, prescriptions, menu planning, cooking, house repairs, unwanted deliveries and the list could go on. At a time when my head feels like its already exploding, I’m giving it even more pressure.
And at the time of writing this I still haven’t had my MRI results from last week. Another little thing running around my head. Or maybe it’s a big thing. I don’t know but I’m keeping the hope that they would have contacted me sooner had it been bad news. Fingers crossed.
Now it’s over to you, what word or phrase sums up your week this week?
It’s hard when you have too many things running around in your head at the best of times, let alone when you are in the hospital each day having IVIG infusions too. I’m sorry that the infusions give you headaches but I hope they make you feel better overall. How lovely that the nurses remembered you – it does make hospitals visits that little bit more pleasant when things like that happen. It did make me chuckle that you couldn’t find your glasses when you were wearing them all along. I’ve done things like that too! Thanks for hosting #WotW and hope you have a restful weekend x

Sending hugs. It sounds like you’ve had a tough week.
I’m glad you are getting the infusions again it is a shame about the headaches though.
Ahh! I am a flapper too. It is exhausting. I am sure if there was anything wrong with the MRI results they would have been in touch by now. Good luck x

I’ve found this week overwhelming and that’s without going into hospital. Back to school has been enough for me. So lovely that the hospital staff remembered you. I can imagine it put you at ease. Headaches are hideous. I hope it passes soon and the procedure makes you feel a new person again.
Oh dear 🙁 I hope you manage to get some rest this weekend and your thoughts leave you in peace for a bit xx By the way I’ve done that with my glasses too!
