Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is ‘Sunny’ and you can read more about that below.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week. There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest board devoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
Word of the Week is open from 6am on Friday Morning to 12 noon on Monday. Plenty of time to join in!
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
MY WORD OF THE WEEK – SUNNY
I think any word would improve on last weeks pain. This week has been really sunny and it’s cheered me up a lot. I wasn’t well over the weekend but my Brother and Sister-in-law popped by with some lovely Sunflowers which are really lovely and still going strong. If I’m honest I’ve never been a huge fan of sunflowers but I feel differently now because they really do bring the sunshine into your home.
The weather has been nice too, we’ve had so much sun I’ve managed to dry a lot of washing. After last week when I was ill there was a lot of catching up to do and I managed to do most of it. but with a family of seven the washing is never ending so I’m grateful for sunny days.
The kids have settled well into school and are mostly enjoying it. The two younger ones want to walk home and I think we will be giving them the chance while the weather is nice and it’s still light. It’s not a bad walk, the primary school the girls went to is just across the road and we often used to walk to school. In fact, when they first started there we had no car so there was no option. On Sunny or dry days we would walk home along the canal. The kids could do that now because it would mean they wouldn’t have to cross any dangerous roads on the way home, but there have been some nasty incidents along the canal in the recent years and I think the roads are a safer option.
I know this sunny weather won’t last, but it’s nice to catch a little bit of sun before it starts getting cold. I’m soaking up every last drop. (I even managed half hour sitting outside the hospital last week in the sun.)
Now it’s over to you, what word or phrase sums up your week this week?
Oh what a difference a week and some sunshine make. We are so happy to hear you are feeling better. The kids settling down to school life must bring some relief too.
We’ve also been enjoying the nice sunny weather but we think the coats might be coming out next week! Hope not though.
We love sunflowers and had a few in the garden this year. One scrawny little one that we didn’t care for, has just opened it’s head and it’s beautiful. Maybe a little note to us to tell us not to give up on things too easily. Have a great weekend.
The weather has been lovely hasn’t it! I’ve been sitting in the garden too 🙂
It has been nice to have the sunshine and warm weather before it starts to get cold. I’m glad the sunshine has helped cheer you up this week and hope you are feeling better too x #WotW

I am glad the kids are getting on well at school. Good luck to them walking home, I’m sure they will love it and it will give them some independence. x

It’s been lovely to see the sun here this week too, we’ve seen so little of it this year!
I can’t imagine how you keep up with washing for seven, your washing machine must be permanently running! I stopped ironing during lockdown and have never really started again!!
