Kids Can Bake, recipes for budding bakers

We were sent this fabulous book, Kids Can Bake, from Button Books to review and it’s perfect for all those budding bakers out there.

Show your child how much fun cookery can be by teaching them how to bake. In this colourful book, beautifully illustrated step-by-step recipes show children how to bake delicious cakes, biscuits, pies, puddings and tarts. As well as learning how easy it is to bake all sorts of tasty treats, they’ll practise skills like measuring, weighing and counting without even realising it. Full of sweet and savoury ideas for everything from brownies to baguettes, including breakfasts, snacks, main meals and desserts, there’s plenty to keep young bakers busy in the kitchen.

My Review of Kids Can Bake

I have spent so many happy hours with my children in the kitchen to the point where two of them are cooking independently now. This book is a perfect introduction to getting your kids baking and learning. Esther coombs recipes are easy to follow and the book is full of her wonderful illustrations.

Like any good cook book it begins with telling you about the equipment that may be required and the basic techniques you need to learn.

The recipes vary in skill from biscuits to rainbow cakes. Many of them offer alternative ingredients so you have a choice. There are also savoury and sweet recipes, your child can create their own menu. Everything is easy to follow and full of illustrations.
