I’ve used this photo before, but today I just wanted to mention my Dad again as tomorrow is the 46th anniversary of his death. I wrote a post about my Dad earlier this year on what would have been his 100th birthday had he survived. He died younger than I am now! Here is my favourite photo of me and My Dad.
I always had a dummy stuck to my face, before I was born my Mom had worked in a dummy making factory!
Or maybe I was just a moaner and they wanted to shut me up!
Family for Me and My Dad
It’s funny sometimes how history repeats itself. My Mum had two children and then 14 years later she had me, then my little brother. Both myself and my eldest brother did the same, we had two children, a huge gap and then more children. My Dad was 44 years old when I was born, I was 44 when I had my youngest child.
I’m not sure about my family line continuing. My eldest don’t seem keen on having children and neither do my youngest. Maybe my Little Man will, but that’s going to be a pretty long wait for me. My eldest brother already has grand children and even a great grandchild. He’s recently become a grandad again at the age of 70! So I’m not giving up hope just yet. But, at least it means my Dad’s blood line will be continuing into the future.
I can’t imagine my Dad at 100 years old!
That’s a lovely photo of you and your dad. I’ve just read your post sharing your memories of your dad on his 100th birthday. What lovely memories you have of him and how hard his sudden death must have been for you. It made me so sad reading about the little girl who got more sympathy when her dog died than you did when your dad died. Dads are definitely more important than dogs! Thinking of you and sending virtual hugs for tomorrow. I hope that it will be as gentle a day as it can be x

I have a similar photo with my father except I was even younger than 3. I lost my father to cancer when I was 14. Photos and precious memories are what we have. #MMBC
Such a nice photo! Happy memories. I wouldn’t be concerned yet about the family line continuing. Your kids are relatively young!

What a beautiful picture. I love seeing people’s old pics. I do wonder if we will continue to have picture records in a digital age where things can get lost.
Aw what a lovely photo and something to treasure x #mysundaysnapshot
Lovely photo and what a lots of coincidences
What a lovely photo. It’s interesting that you all had the same sort of family. My husband and I are both from families of three with a pretty big gap between the second and third child, but I had my three very evenly spaced!
I realised today that my mum became a grandma at 52. I’m 48 and I think I’ll be waiting a lot longer than four years to become a grandma!
