As it’s the end of the year I thought I would look back on some of the item reviews I have done this year. I love to review things big or small. I am a big reviewer and will always pass on my opinion on things I buy. You will find that I leave a review on my Etsy purchases and most of my Amazon purchases (I do share my Amazon account with my family though, so not everything gets reviewed.) I just feel happy giving feedback good or bad, but it’s much better when it’s good of course. I love reviewing books so much I moved them over to my other blog At Home a Lot. I really like the challenge of saying what I thought about a book without giving away the entire plot.

It’s a bit of a risk ordering things like blinds online. However, I found the site really easy to use and there are videos to help you with the measuring techniques. I was incredibly pleased with my new blinds. The colour is lovely and they really do block out all the light. They don’t have chains at the bottom and I was worried about this, but they are much better than the chained type. The only complaint I’d have is that they do blow around a lot on blustery days when we have the kitchen window open.

I love personalised stuff and I’ve reviewed a lot this year. These are the lovely mugs I had from Printster and I also had some lovely fridge magnets with the star of the year, my great nephew, on them.

My Star was 16 this year and we didn’t have a big celebration, but we managed to make the house look special with some personalised decorations from Dom and Geri, and matching wrapping paper and card. All completely personalised and brilliant quality.

I don’t normally get excited over small kitchen gadgets but I use this garlic crusher all the time. It’s so good you don’t even have to peel the garlic. And even though my hands are not strong I can use it myself. I peel off the excess garlic and peel and run it under the tap to clean it. It comes up great and even after 6 moths of regular use it still looks brand new.

I was actually offered a feature wall from Photowall, but I didn’t have anyone who could have put it up in a reasonable time for the review so I chose a canvas instead. The choice was huge, but I have always wanted something that reminded me of a picture my nan used to have on the wall in her home. The one I chose was closest to this, and I really love it. Everyone who has been to my home has commented on it too.

I use this vacuum upstairs. It’s light and easy to use and helps me keep my bedrooms and landing clean without having to take a vacuum up the stairs. (which I physically couldn’t do anyway.) It’s another one of those household items that gets a lot of use and I’ve had it over 8 months now and have never had a problem with it. I frequently take the hand held part off to run over the mattresses on the beds too.

You will not see my teen without these headphones on. I think she sometimes sleeps in them too because using blue tooth she can connect them to her phone and listen to meditating music to help her get to sleep. She really, really loves them. They are very good at blocking out outside noise though and if I want to speak to her I have to signal her to take them off so she can hear me. They must be really comfortable.
Since my babies are growing up I don’t very often review baby items now. However, this year we had a new family member, my great nephew. I adore baby shoes and really couldn’t resist getting these for my niece. I did ask her to choose which ones she wanted, and told her I was going to review them her before giving them to her. She was really pleased with them.
When I decided to write this post I’d forgotten just how many items I have reviewed this year. This is just a selection of them. I feel very lucky to have these opportunities and I’m always willing to try new things and write about them no matter how big or small. I hope you, my readers enjoy reading them and find them useful. Look out for my first review of 2022 next week.

Great minds think alike. I have a similar post tomorrow. I am glad you mentioned the blinds again as we are planning to get some for the kitchen and would rather use a company which someone I know has tried. x
