Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is ‘karma’ and you can read more about that below.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week. There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest board devoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
Word of the Week is open from 6am on Friday Morning to 12 noon on Monday. Plenty of time to join in!
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
MY WORD OF THE WEEK – Karma
Karma is not always getting your just deserts, we seem to have suffered the opposite in some cases this week. Doing good deeds and getting bad things in return.
My Brother and Sister-in-Law moved into their new house and it’s lovely, but moving is hard and I could see they were struggling. Thankfully Graham was on hand to help them out. But we ended up paying for it. I bought them a small dining table and chairs for their kitchen. It was the least I could do after all they have done for me in the past. But, as Graham was putting it our car to take to them he took the parcel shelf out of the boot and someone nabbed it. ( we have him on our camera but we doubt we will get it back, he was unbelievably cheeky, taking it while Graham was turning the car around.) I can’t believe how expensive they are to replace, even on Ebay, second hand. If we don’t replace it we lose our £650 deposit on the car when we return it in August.
Also, both Graham and myself have clocked up many hours on the phone talking to a desperate friend after her husband walked out on her. Day and night we have been there for her to offload. Today, Graham got a text saying (Sic) Thanks for your help but we are back together now and are trying again. Now, I’m all for people not giving up on their relationships but this is the third time he’s walked out on her in 3 years and she always turns to us for help. But, she doesn’t listen to us really. I do feel for her, but she’ll learn one day. (been there, done that, got the t-shirt!)
Karma has had it in for us this week and we don’t know why.
What word or phrase sums up your week this week?
Ugh! I hope Karma comes and bites the person on the bum who stole the parcel shelf. What a rotter!
That sounds so frustrating about your friend. I’ve been in that situation before, being the shoulder to cry on.
I hope the weekend and next week is better for you xx
I’m so sorry that you had your parcel shelf stolen – it would never occur to me that someone might steal something like that or that it would be so expensive to replace. Sounds like a frustrating situation with your friend as well. You did the right thing being there for her but it is frustrating when things end up repeating themselves. Hope that this week has been a better one for you. #WotW
