My Little Man will always be my baby, but in just one year he will be a teenager! This year, though, he’s still a child and we had a super fun day out for his birthday. We only came back from holiday on Monday and his birthday was Tuesday. I’d bought and wrapped a couple of presents before we went away, but I really had no idea what to get him and he wasn’t very helpful.
I was thinking of taking him to the toy store so he could pick something that he wanted, but as his sister’s were busy planning days out with their friends I could see him getting jealous so I asked him if he wanted a day out. He was thrilled and we decided on the Sea Life Centre and Legoland Experience.
My Little Man on his birthday
My Little Man, myself, Graham and his Eldest Sister went out early afternoon and it was a beautiful day. The Sea Life Centre in Birmingham is situated in the canal area and it’s so pretty around there. If you visit Birmingham, please don’t forget to go to the canals. Legoland Experience is just across the bridge and you can buy discounted tickets if you go to both (And you don’t have to go on the same day, although booking is recommended.) I paid for the tickets myself so this is not an ad.
Sea Life Centre
We have been to the sea life centre many times before but there is always something new to see. We love the 360° tunnel where you have water and sea creatures all around you, including under your feet!
This year the new thing for us was the tunnels you could crawl into and feel as though you were under water. I couldn’t crawl in, but the Little Man loved them.
Legoland Experience
This was a new one for us as we’ve never been before. We hadn’t booked but they did let us in as it wasn’t super busy. We first went on a ride which was kind of surreal as we all had lazer guns and had to shoot the enemies on the way around. I didn’t do very well. The Little Man loved it.
Then we went to the 4D cinema. I had to sit right at the front which mean the characters in the movie were right in my face (so close I felt I could lick them!) We got a little wet, blown around and foamed. Graham got the most foam and he was covered from head to toe. It’s a shame we couldn’t take photos in there.
Here is a pic of The Little Man building a lego car which he could then use on one of the race tracks.
We came home and had a BBQ and big chocolate cake to finish of the birthday boy’s special day. The Little Man really enjoyed his birthday.
Happy Birthday not so little Little Man. And remember, you will always be my baby even when you are 30!
A Day at the Sea Life Centre in 2014 when they had introduced the Gentoo penguins.
Happy belated birthday to your Little Man although I doubt he is that little anymore. hehehe
It sounds like he had a great birthday and a fab day out. x
