Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is ‘headspace’ and you can read more about that below.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week. There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest board devoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
Word of the Week is open from 6am on Friday Morning to 12 noon on Monday. Plenty of time to join in!
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
MY WORD OF THE WEEK – Headspace
It’s been an absolute manic few weeks and this week I’ve been trying to find some headspace. I really couldn’t think of anything else that would sum up my week. Last week I left you while I was sweltering in the heat but now it’s cooled down a lot and we’ve had a fair bit of rain (Although probably not enough.)
The family have been out of sorts because of the lack of wifi thanks to Virgin being down in our area for nearly two weeks! Mobile data has been used and I even purchased BT wifi to tide us over for a while. We were told to get out and enjoy the sunshine instead, but we’ve had a lot going on and we needed that time to chill out, the girls needed to chat to their friends and I so wanted to catch up on my Prime and Netflix.
I was in hospital all day Monday having my treatment. I was so tired when I came home. I find that being in hospital gives me time to catch up with things I don’t have time for at home…like just thinking and having some headspace!
Tuesday I asked for the day off from hospital because I had tickets to see Les Miserables with Boo on the evening. It was so good, I’m so glad I got to see it. But the evening wasn’t without it’s issues which again started me thinking too much.
Wednesday I was back in hospital all day to catch up for missing out on Tuesday. The good news was that I didn’t need to go in on Thursday although seeing my stress one of the nurses said I could just go in and take a break if I wanted to.
Thursday was nice and cool, and the Internet was working!! I had so much to catch up on though, from washing to housework to blog posts, reading and my coursework. I really need some headspace. It’s been a really full summer holiday so far, but I just need to relax now. Not much chance of that with further appointments (We get Star’s blood test results and her brother has asthma clinic) And then it’s Star’s birthday next week. She’s going out with her friends but she also wants a BBQ at home. I’m hoping that we do get a little more sunshine next week.
Now it’s your turn, what word or phrase sums up your week this week?
Sometimes you need to take your peace and quiet where you can take it, even if it’s a hospital visit. I love Les Mis! one of my favourite musicals 🙂 Hope things settle down a little bit for you.
I know what you mean by needing the headspace to THINK! Glad you are getting through things. Wifi off for 2 weeks? Even I would scream, lol.
No wonder you have wanted some headspace, you have been so busy and the added drama of no wifi would have driven me insane. I’d have told the person telling you to get out and enjoy the sunshine to get stuffed.
I am glad you enjoyed Les Misérables, that is probably one of my favourite musicals.
Have a lovely weekend and I hope the hospital appointments go well and Star has a fab birthday. x
Glad your hospital visits manage to give you some headspace time at least. I find very hard to get any headspace at all during the school holidays! Hope Star has been able to enjoy her birthday x #WotW
