Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is ‘Thirsty’ and you can read more about that below.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week. There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest board devoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
Word of the Week is open from 6am on Friday Morning to 12 noon on Monday. Plenty of time to join in!
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
MY WORD OF THE WEEK – Thirsty
I have had another rough week, but I’m trying to stay positive. I’ve chosen thirsty as my word because it has been treatment week for me. I have to drink at least 2 ltrs of water a day two days before my treatment and after and 3ltrs while having my treatment. I still feel thirsty. The infusions make my blood thicker which can slow down the movement around my body and cause really bad headaches.
I didn’t avoid the headaches and I still have tinnitus, but the week has passed quickly.
Thirsty has other connotations too. You can be thirsty for knowledge and that’s something I always am. I love learning new things and I keep signing up to online classes (in particular from The Centre of Excellence) so I can learn new things. One of my latest programs is learning DBT or Dialectical Behavioural Therapy. It’s really interesting.
One thing I’m not thirsty for though is attention. I have so many opinions on the things going on in the world right now, but I know from experience that when you start expressing your opinions you can attract all kinds of attention, and a lot of it can be negative. Whatever happened to being kind? You may have noticed that I have been quieter on Social Media lately.
Now it’s your turn, what word or phrase sums up your week this week?
I’m glad your treatment went well. The world is not the nicest place at the moment and Social Media is not always the nicest sandbox to play in. Staying away is sometimes a good thing.
I hope you catch a break soon. It seems like you’ve had too many rough weeks recently.
Oh wow! That is a lot of water to drink. The online classes sound interesting and I have held back and not said a lot of things on social media, I just can’t be bothered with the negative attention. Ugh! x
You deserve a long spa break after all that! We know what you mean by the negativity on social media etc these days! We are hardly there too!
