This week I’m sharing a few of photos of Ash, my Mackerel Cat.
He’s a pretty lazy cat mostly, lying around the house. Here he is looking comfy on my sofa. He has an older sister, Sabrina, or Sabby as we call her. She’s our oldest cat at 16 years. Ash, the mackerel cat, is now four years old and the time has flown by, here he is as a kitten. He’s much bigger than Sabby though, as this next photo shows.
He’s not a very cuddly cat, it’s rare that he’ll sit on a lap. He does look for my older daughter though and if she is in, he will jump up her and meow. She’s definitely his favourite person. Even though it’s me who has to open the door for him fifty times a day to let him in and out. I wish we could have a cat flap!
Sabby doesn’t really go out much now, she will sit on the chair on the patio sometimes. Ash likes to go out though, I don’t know what he gets up to but he does like chasing birds. He brought us a mouse that he’d caught the other day. It was still alive. My daughter took it out somewhere safe (we hope.) I think he was offering us a meal for looking after him.
Just like most cats, Ash likes boxes. He will try and get in any box no matter how big or small. The other day we had this small parcel and left the box on the floor. Within minutes he was curled up inside it even though he barely fitted.
So funny how cats can have such interesting personalities. Our cat is a bit like a dog, she follows my son around the house and if we have been out of the house for a long time. She will greet us at the door when we come home. She also loves cuddles and high-fives, she’s so funny.
I love the photo of Ash in a box! I hope your Christmas tree will be safe from your cats :o)

Mackeral is a cutie. I love how cats love boxes and morph into the shape. #MMBC
Oh wow! That has flown over, I remember Ash being a kitten. Cats in boxes do make me smile, they really do love them. x
Oh my goodness, I can’t believe Ash is four already. I remember when you got him and it really doesn’t seem long ago!
I love the photo of him squashed up in the box.
Such sweet snapshots – thanks so much for sharing and for linking up with #MySundaySnapshot,
