Yesterday we had a day out. Well, most of us, Star was too poorly. We went to a local cafe bar to see Graham perform along with some friends. It was a small friendly place but quite busy. Graham did really well and was popular with the punters who enjoyed singing along.
Graham loves nothing more than playing his guitar and singing, and he’s so good at performing live. He wasn’t the only act playing but he did really well and it was a lovely afternoon.
I also wanted to check out the venue because I’m thinking it would be a nice place for a private party for Star’s 18 birthday later this year. It’s not huge but it has a lovely garden area too and Star’s birthday is in August. I’m just hoping that Graham can strike a deal with the owner to let us use it for her birthday. I’m pretty sure Graham will be giving us a song or two as well.
This year I have Boo’s 16th Birthday, The Little Man’s 13th and then Star’s 18th, all within 4 weeks in the summer! Three special birthdays.
Boo’s birthday is first and she wants to go for a family meal and have a day out with her two best friends and Star and her boyfriend. I’m not sure yet what The Little Man wants to do. I guess I should start planning soon.
It’s been a tough week with Star not being well and many sleepless nights, including having to call the emergency district nurses out during the early hours of Friday morning. Thankfully, they came pretty quickly.
It was nice to have some time out on Saturday afternoon even if Star wasn’t well enough to come.
Next week it’s hospital treatment week for me. I’m not prepared, these six weeks seem to fly by!
This weeks Word of the Week Link up is open until Monday 24th if you would like to join in. And I have a new Instagram @athomealotmindfulness if you would be willing to pop along and give me a follow or a like.
I have also opened a new online shop for Mindfulness over on my other blog At Home A Lot.
Thanks to everyone who has shown me so much support already x.
What a fun day out and well done to Graham. Good luck with getting the venue for Star’s birthday.
Oh wow! It sounds like a lot of big birthdays. My girls turn 21 and 16 this year and so far we have no plans at all. x
How fun to see your Graham perform. I love the small venues with live performers. I went along to a friend’s performance a couple of weeks ago. It was a tiny venue but it had a really great atmosphere. How exciting to have three big birthdays coming up, good luck with your plans. And all the best as you have your hospital treatment next week. I’ll be sure to pray that all goes well for you xx
What a great photo. It must have been lovely to see Graham perform.
Sorry to hear Star has been so poorly again. I hope you are able to give her the 18th birthday party she wants.
My kids turned 13, 16 and 18 in the same year too, but there’s seven months between the birthdays, not four weeks! Then last year we had 16, 18 and 21!
Oooo I love a bit of live music – Thanks for sharing and for linking up with #MySundaySnapshot.
