Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is ‘fresh’ and you can read more about that below.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week. There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. And please only add one post to the link up each week, multiple posts will be deleted. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest board devoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
Word of the Week is open from 6am on Friday Morning to 12 noon on Monday. Plenty of time to join in!
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
MY WORD OF THE WEEK – Fresh
This week it was a fresh start for Boo back at school and for The Little Man with his Home Education. After being rejected for his EHCP it has made me realise just how much help he really does need. So, I’m talking to someone tomorrow and then I’m going to appeal. The Little Man is so like his big brother, and he thrived with the right help. In the meantime we are taking a fresh look at ways of learning things rather than trying to follow the curriculum which just wasn’t working for him.
It also feels like a fresh season with the sun making the occasional appearance and the trees at the bottom of the garden beginning to grow leaves. Even my own little trees are starting to blossom. I love trees, I want more!
We gave our bedroom a good clean out (which nearly killed me even though Graham did most of the work.) It’s made such a difference and we’ve got rid of so much clutter. (We actually had some unopened boxes from when we moved shoved in a corner…we moved 10 years ago!) I just love a nice clean, fresh bedroom. Plus it means we can let Star have her district nurse treatment in there. She can’t have it in her own room as the girls share and have a bunk bed. And the living room is awkward for privacy, especially when everyone is home. The nurse visited this week and Star had a fresh catheter.
This week saw the delivery of a new fridge freezer. It replaced one that was over 20 years old! We had a new one last year but being such a big household we do need two. Thankfully they are a lot cheaper to run these days, which was one of the factors I put in when buying my new one. The fridge is massive so we’ll have lots of fresh food.
I would be so happy if you could spare a moment to check out my fresh new Instagram account @athomealotmindfulness and maybe give me a follow.
Now it’s over to you, what word or phrase sums up your week this week?
I hope Boo gets on OK with school. It feels like such a short run to the GCSE’s. Good luck with the appeal for your Little Man. It sounds like a fresh look at learning is a great approach.
I am not a fan of the trees at the moment. From what I read all the pollen is coming from them causing my hay fever. Hmmf.
Well done with getting your bedroom sorted. It sounds like a big job.
Wow! Your old fridge freezer did so well lasting so long. You were certainly due a new one. x
Good luck to Boo! and good luck to you too with your appeal. The judgements they make sometimes are ridiculous. I had a big sort out in our bedroom at the start of the year, makes such a difference. It’ll be nicer for Star to have her nurse visits in comfort. Where would we be without fridge freezers! Have followed your Instagram too
The new appliances are so much easier on electricity consumption. Like you we have an old freezer. I don’t like changing them, but there comes a point when you have to. Enjoy the new space. Well done with clearing out your bedroom. I bet it feels bigger too. I’m sorry that Little Man’s ECHP hasn’t been approved. I hope Boo carries on enjoying her fresh start. I suspect there are boxes in our attic that are still waiting to be unpacked. One day…..
I hope you can get the support your son needs in school. I love the word of the week ‘fresh’ I’ve been loving having the washing on the line and the windows wide open
A new fridge? I love that feeling. And I love the idea of a bedroom clearout too! Last week we did a clearout and donated at least 10 sheet sets to the charity shop! We feel so much lighter for it. All the best for your young ones with their education.
I really hope all goes well with the appeal for your little man. Well done decluttering your room. It’s always such a massive task but so worth it when it’s all done. How exciting to get a new freezer, it’s incredible how much more energy-efficient home appliances are these days. You’ll probably notice a decrease in your next power bill!
Hope Boo is settling in well back at school and that having fresh ways of looking at things is working for Little Man. Good luck with the appeal for his EHCP. Lovely to have a good decluttering session. I have to admit we have unopened boxes still from when we moved 12 years ago! #WotW
